How long do you spend reading a profile, i like them brief and to the point, the reason i bring this up is i have just clicked on a profile that was over 3000 words long, it just looked so long and within 2 seconds couldnt be bothered to read it. BTW i copy pasted the profile into a word counter just to see how long.

your thoughts GO

I'm with you, it prefer short and concise. I don't notice chaps' profiles being overly long though.

You actually copied and pasted into a word counter? Dear god! Wouldn't it have been quicker to read it or just move on?

OP I like the length of yours.

Profile text is another filter. Some people like lots of info, some don't. Easy to move on if it's not your thing.

My profile used to be quite wordy, then it changed it to be more intriguing yet vague

That means my messages have to be better and I'm happy to say I've never looked back lol

Brighton - even Hove!

How longs mine? It stays as it is....drones who can't read it through or don't want to dont get to meet me. It's a deliberate and subtle filter.

I like enough information to get an idea of who they are, who they are looking for, (i.e. if they might be interested in me) and whether we might be on the same wavelength.

If I message them, it helps if their profile gives me an idea of a suitable starting point.

If the corner is interesting or amusing I couldn't give a toss how long it is. I'll read it.

Likewise short and relevant.

If it's too brief to tell you anything, a long list if do's and dont's full of shouty capitals or moans - or there's more text in the pointless disclaimer at the end - then I'll give up quite quickly.

Although i wouldnt go to the lengths o of copy and pasting to gat a word count i think the topic is valid.

I usually find that those who write war and peace on their profiles have a list of requirements so demanding its like selection for the SAS.

They are usually written by people with high opinions of themselves and consider only a select few worthy of their company.

Not to mention how mind numbingly boring their inane drivel becomes.

Deviant City

my profile is rather long, but its my first paragraph that is the most important, the rest doesn't need to be read. If the reader is more interested, then the rest of my profile is rather informative

Absolutely, it's disgraceful that anyone should be looking for something specific on a site where people often come in order to fulfil fantasies.

How dare anyone know exactly what they want and look for it?

Being specific saves wasting anyone's time.

It's not necessarily that people who are looking for something in particular have a high opinion of themselves. Some accept that they may or may not get it but are not interested in compromising on what they desire just to get meets.

Different strokes.

If a profile is entertaining I'll read it. I quite like some on here, they are inventive.

Like attracts like. If people think our profile is too long then it's effectively another filter

Having a longer than average profile can be a useful filter and easily identify those that didn't read important bit!

Yeap, mine is long and I have no intention of changing it, I know who I am looking for and will not settle for less so as others have said, it's just acts as another filter and works well for me.

As long as it needs to be to explain preferences, also depends what your after. If you want to shag anything with a pulse, no need to put anything lol. Get a lot of compliments on mine, just trying to save everyone's time but give a flavour of where I'm at. Like it when I can tell from a profile if were compatible.

Yes, but you have a MA in photo-bombing and that counts for a lot in my eyes and that should be on your profile

I once saw a profile with 50 bullet points of things she didn't like in a man

I had to stop my self from laughing.

I agree, long profiles can give a sense of a person, now that can work in your favour or not !!

Yours is interesting so numbers don't matter

I believe he did, as I saw her profile later that day and it now had 51 bullet points

Short sweet and to the point. Why spend hours writing a profile 95% of the people who contact you won't even read anyway

Mine is pretty sizeable, it's not rant yor moaning, covers all the pertinent points & I've tried to inject a level of humour. It's the perfect filter as there is a request right at the end that gets missed or ignored..... Helps me as an extra filter, as if someone can't take 15 seconds to read it, prob not someone I'd meet.

I don't mind them long - I just don't read them

I only ever skim through. Unless they're funny, or really fit.

Any rant, long or short, puts me off immediately.
