I have noticed on a few posts that a few people have had cancer or are going through treatment for it.

I was wondering if it would help people on here to know they could get sone advice from someone who has been through it before. Or if this is not such a good idea.

Probably the best thing sufferers can know is that people DO come through it.

For me I left it three months after finding the first lump on one of my testicles, I finally got the nerve to go to the doctor. I got my appointment and had the op, they removed one of my testicles. I had Radiotherapy for 3 weeks, and after 5 years of checks I got the all clear.

Ive not had cancer but lost my dad recently to it. Knowing that people here can be very supportive is a golden asset, even if they may not have had that dreadful condition.

I found the worst thing people did for me when i was going through cancer was that people treated me like a sick person when my dianosis was very positive as it was caught early and could be easily treated.

Five years ago my ex husband and I underwent routine health checks prior to our first appointment at the ivf clinic. The results of the cervical smear test came back abnormal and a couple of weeks later I was seen at the hospital and diagnosed with stage 1 cancer.

My cancer was successfully treated with surgery and I was lucky that it hadn't spread and that I needed no further treatment.

OP I think this is a great idea although I would call support rather than advice.

Everyone who has cancer treatment, be it an operation, radiotherapy or chemo will all have different experiences / problems and I think the medical profession are the best people to give advice.
