AA, RAC or Green Flag

I'm currently with AA and the renewal price (even when I tried to negotiate with them) seems high.

Any have experience of Green Flag or AA? Would you recommend them?

Both our cars are reliable and we have only ever used the AA for a flat battery 3 years ago, so its just for peace of mind.

Ta muchly

my ex used green flag years ago they were fine. I was paying for the RAC each month and then found out by paying 15 quid a month into a joint account we are both covered. It also covers our mobiles, laptops and holiday insurance. So maybe be worth checking with your bank and comparing prices.

What's the renewal price?

Try your bank - can work out cheaper!

By the seaside

I'm with my green flag. A few years ago I had to call them out and the car had to be put on the back of break down truck to be taken home. The driver of the truck was shall we say rather over friendly and I ended up asking him to drop me and car off 5 mins away from where I live as I didn't want him to know exactly where I lived. I reported it to Green Flag and they were brilliant in the dealing of it. Am still with them and have had to use since.

Manchester Area

Try StartRescue, been with them for 3 years, beats AA RAC and GreenFlag prices all the way for an equivalent service £50 for personal membership, covering any car plus the usual home start, recovery and relay

MAMOBA, miles and miles of bugger all (Aberdeenshire)

I was with RAC, now AA through my bank account.

Green flag are pretty rubbish up here as they outsource to rural garages so no guarantee of service (their words when I phoned at ask for a price)

I was covered through the bank - for breakdown, phone cover plus more.

Company car now so luckily I don't have to worry about the cost!

For ten pound a month with the Halifax I'm fully covered with the AA and full holiday/travel insurance. There's some other bits as well but these were the main two that made me join the scheme.

I'm with Greenflag, they offered the best deal by far and have provided good service when I needed it.

I was with the AA but when they wouldn't give me as good a deal as they offer new customers I felt my loyalty wasn't deserved.

We broke down in Cap d'Agde in the South of France and Green Flag were brilliant! We never had any problems with them in all the time we used them. We are now with the RAC, because we have insurance through Marks and Sparks and it is included in the price.

Was with the AA but got charged extra for a second call out in one week. It took 3 months to get a full refund after they finally admitted their approved garages repair didn't work. I knew they were expensive but thought I was paying for a quality service.

Now with green flag in a deal with my insurance.

I have had them all. RAC and green flag have been the best. Check out cashback sites such as quidco and topcashback as they often give so much cash to you when you buy Rac or AA via their site that it is often almost free. At renewal next year just repeat the process via cashback sites again, do not renew. There sites earn money from businesses when you purchase stuff after being linked to them from the cashback site. I have had almost £2000 cash back paid to me.

Sadly, we were fully dressed as we were just about to leave for home, but if it gives you a little more pleasure...

Yep! We were just on our way home from a party in Jardin Eden, both totally fucked and satiated, the guy from the garage sent to help us, brought his wife along to help and we ended up fucking them both!

Now THAT is a fantasy!!! lol xx

I am with the AA for the car and green flag for the bike, I haven't had to call out either of them so far, it does piss you off paying for the cover as cars are reliable these days, but like you say peace of mind just in case, Green flag will be the cheapest of the three I bet.
