Silly words...

I think the English Language is great. But some words are rather silly.

Would love to compile a list or a dictionary of these so looking for suggestions to include.

Example....you can be overwhelmed or underwhelmed...but is it possible to be whelmed?

An escalator should (surely?) only go UP (escalate means raise). Why don't we have "downscalators" ( even if we include lifts/elevators, that only means they go up not down).

Please chip in!
