Bra Trouble

This has been an absolute nightmare for Mrs. Wet Hot for quite some time.

She's quite... "ample" in the breast area, and has frequently bought bras that don't fit because bra sizing is all over the place depending on what shop she goes to. A bra in one size in one shop will be utterly different to the same bra in another shop!

It's got to the point where we don't know what her size is! We've looked up measurement guides, but there's about three different types (add five this, blah blah) so we still don't know!

So, for those girls with the bigger breasts, were do you shop or, maybe the better question, where the hell do you go on the high street to find out the right size!

Tits'r'us? lol

I'm thinking of opening a chain of stores...

Sorry clearly I'm of no help...

But thought that Marks and Sparks did that sort of measuring service for women? I'm sure I've seen it mentioned somewhere on the telly... one of those fashion programs... Look good naked or something like that?

unfortunately there is a great disparity in the quality of the measurers.there is also such a difference in the bras themselves. I had a great one until it became a victim of the recession and closed down. I buy from bravissimo, Simply Be and debenhams but stick to the same styles I know they fit.

A lot of Marks and Spencers actually have folks who will measure and advise - their service is fantastic, I know because a friend of mine had to have a masectomy and M&S were amazingly helpful with her, very sensitive to the situation and measured etc and ordered her a bra with a fake insert specifically to match her needs...

SElfridges are another option, although their sales girls are exactly that - SALES - and they will try every trick under the sun to sell their more expensice items etc and I have found them to be quite pressurised.

Go to a big department store with lots of choices and helpful staff, and find brands that fit, and stick with them.

Day to day good bras are hard to find, therefore, expect to pay decent money for them.

Cheap and cheerful ones are only fit for playing when one does not expect them to stay on for long!

I forgot to mention to beware of brands that are made in the same factory using the same templates etc., like Fantasia and Freya, as their "fit" may be the same, as advised to me by a lady who owns a lingerie shop in town.

Bravissimo every time! Look online, they send out catalogues you can also get bikinis, tops and dresses that fit the larger bust.

I don't find M&S very good for the larger bust/cup size or their measuring for that matter. Go for the experts in larger busts like bravissimo and they have some retail outlets too.

Bravissimo are great if you are a large cup size but they are mainly small/average backed ( 38/40 is their max I think )

Debenhams is the best down here as they have a wider range of brands to chose from after measuring you .

Debenhams - they do a range called 'gorgeous', and its exactly that - really pretty and i've found regardless of colour or cut, a 32 E is always a 32E... and the fitting staff have always been so helpful to me - they know my t*ts better than my husband does now!

Big department stores are good I tend to use bhs and john lewis for everyday bras. M&s you now have to book for a fitting. You messure for her under the bust too get her size not too tight and around the fleshy part to get the cup size so you get a rough idea. And I agree internet very good for the more sexier stuff.

there are usually many local lingerie shops that will provide a fitting and the staff are happy to help you find the perfect bra. some of the major departments also provide the same service.

would suggest a specialist lingerie shop though as they will stock more brands and you can find the size in that particular brand...then if you want to find them on-lin, it opens the market up for you a little more

The best and most accurate place i found was Peter Jones in Sloane Square. I was wearing the wrong size for years till i went there and if they dont have the bra you like in stock they advise you where to go and the best makes

May i respectfully suggest that a U.S based website may be the answer.

American bras have a great reputation.

One Yank and they're off!

There's a woman in the North East called Sadie the Bra Lady and she has a good reputation for fitting correct sized bras.

She's been doing it for years and is quite well known in the media, she can size you up by looking at you apparently.

All my coffee biatches at work swear by her.

If im buying a bra that I really need to fit properly, then the best bras Ive ever bought were from Bravissimo.

I do find Debenhams bras fit me well and also Freya bras.

for swinging then it doesnt matter if they dont fit, I have bought bras from Ann Summers or corsets etc and the bra bit never fits me, i always fall out of them, but in that instance its quite a good thing
