Try Ambleside, or my favourite place Grassmere

P.O. Box DE1 0NQ

Have been to the Lake District a couple of times in the 80's, but there were 8 of us on motorbikes and we camped

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

It's the height of their season so do a search for hotels in your price range and then pick the place you like best.

I'm heading up at the beginning of August.

There are one or two in pooley bridge, it is a little village over looking ullswater.

I love the Lakes, even with the low flying RAF itnis a relaxing a peaceful place.

Got to agree there with Rachel head up for Pooley Bridge just about 6 miles off the M6 and a great location and some nice pubs there and some good grub too.

Thanks for the replies and the advice ....I'd appreciate some hotel recommendations based on previous visits.

I've done searchs on Laterooms etc but personal experiences would be nice..

I'm not intending to play whilst over there so vanilla reviews are fine haha!!

Thanks

It is ages since I went up to the Lakes, anywhere is nice to stay. Have a look at tripadvisor, I know it is not the best place to get reviews from.
