I really do enjoy been single . Doing what I want . Going where I want . But been out drinking today and seen lots of

Couples and it has made me realise just how much I miss having someone to love and to talk to and to spoil . Does any other singles sometimes feel like this or is it " The drink talking " ?

No I don't think it's the drink talking. Although I love being single and doing what I want, when I want and enjoy my time with my buddies sometimes it would be nice to just chill with someone, have a cuddle and share my worries

I only tend to feel that way if I am going to a party and wish I had a partner for the evening, or on the odd weekends I think how nice it might be to lay in bed chatting and giggling with someone else but as others have said those moments can be few and far between

Iv forced myself to stay single for getting on for 2 yrs now. Before that I went from 1 disaster to the next an needed the time alone but now im lonely I miss the conection with someone specail all the little things if you get me. May be the drink let your guard down and you were being honest with yourself... or may be not.

If I felt that way I would go and do something about it.

I wouldn't be looking for pseudo relationships as a substitute to fill the gap... eventually that just fucks people up.

Some people say relationships will come along when you least expect it and that you can't make it happen.

I believe if you want to catch a fish you've at least got to go to the water.

If you sit waiting for something to fall into your lap, don't be surprised if your lap has a microwave meal for one on it.

Yes, I strongly agree that a substandard relationship is never the answer. I would like one, but I will remain single rather than settle.

And I have had a damn swim about and fish, and not find anything that suits, so now, yes, I am leaving it to serendipity.

But that's where sites like this and the concept of FB/FWB comes in. If you can spend time with a few genuine people who care about you, and who you care about as friends, and scratch an itch at the same time, well then I think that can keep those of us who do like to be in a pair sane meanwhile.

But don't you find it's always you want what you haven't got! I think its natural to miss the positives of a relationship when your not thinking about the negatives that can come along with it too!! I know I often wish I wasn't single but then I also love the independence that's comes with it!
