Yes but it could be because they have the money to pay for the best legal teams.

But then they have every little detail printed inthe rags, the invasion of theirs and their families privacy, and it can have a detrimental effect on future employment.

I think they do get it easier in some cases...

Take driving offences... Joe Bloggs goes to court and loses his licence...

Joey Footballer goes to court and keeps his licence because he needs to drive all over the country for work and charity...

As a judge, I would say "You can hire a chauffeur out of the £50+K a week you earn... Maybe they would think twice next time...

I think so, just consider the Mr Loophole lawyer, who charges a fortune and has helped secure the rich and famous from driving bans that the rest of us would suffer. This is common in other areas of convictions.

Rolf Harris had a very lenient sentence, and I have no reason that his fame didn't influence it.
