finding your passion

My job is pretty boring, just an admin clerk.

I was talking to a friend last night who told me off a bit as she thinks I'm selling myself short and settling for an easy boring job.

She told me to find my passion and look for a career in that, trouble is i dont know what my passion is!!

What's yours and do you work in an area that allows you to embrace it?

I've got a fairly routine and some might say boring job in security... if our team has done our work right we get a nice, quiet shift.... but having done 22 years in the Army I think I've had enough of stress, drama and adrenaline rushes

although I love the job im doing I would love to work in palliative care,i am too old now to study for what I would love to do,so my advice is find your passion and go for it before its too late,i don't regret the job I have but I would love to do the job I want

I adore my job. Sounds smug but I have worked really hard to get it and made many sacrifices along the way. I would do it all again however to stop that feeling if dread you get when you don't want to go to work in the morning xxx

I have yet to find my passion, though I would like to.

I have a couple of friends who live for what they do and it shows in virtually every aspect of who they are.

My job allows me to follow some of my passions, but I'm currently looking to specialise in one area of it. I'm lucky as I happened upon what I do by accident and it's worked for me.

Travel...

It's never too late to learn and the best way is to travel.

I spent 10 years away from the uk and learned and experienced so much.

I was lucky enough that someone took a chance on me, when I was in my early 20s and sent me to the Far East, from there I rode that wave around the globe.

Oh and learn a language, I always feel like an idiot when the polylinguists get started.

My passion is making things. It's something that has always been in me from a young age. I remember getting into trouble as a child for taking things apart or making dangerous things.

I think that if you look back into your childhood you'll find your passion. If you could follow your infant self for a day what would you see yourself playing with?

Passion within my career started out from having a passion for Travel, Extreme Sports and Photography. Due to having another passion which is business, pitching and negotiating, I managed to carve a career doing what I love and getting paid the salary I want.

However, this wasn't an easy path, many sacrifices where made and money wasn't on my agenda in the beginning, that came later on.

I think it's so important for people to sit down and find what their purpose is, life can be short and the last thing some of us want is to be on our death beds saying I wish I'd done this or that.

I could say I found mine by accident but when I looked back over my life, nearly 20 years ago, I discovered a thread that appeared to be my unfolding purpose. I made the assumption it was. Left my job with a package and set-up my own business. I soon discovered that the patch I had chosrn was one with purpose. Although it has not been a straight path and has required many adjustments, times for reflection and a couple of radical transfomations along the way I have felt alive in my work throughout. It gives me joy, meaning and a thirst to keep on learning and now as I enter the autumn of my working life a balance in life that I really like

My passion in life is mirth. My job shouldn't have much mirth, but I just crowbar it in regardless. Hence why my gaffer's medical paperwork at his Dentists now shows his Doctor to be Dr Frankenstein. Neither of us could remember his Dr, but I did get the surgery right

I've done most things from bodyguard to bank manager, the only one I was passionate about was as a professional musician. Unfortunately, despite lots of session work and gigs around the east end in various Jazz, motown and funk bands, I couldn't make ends meet and life got in the way. Now, whatever I do pays the bills, and my passions lie outside of work.
