" My pulse jet is coming along nicely, I need to work on the ignition system though. A blow torch and leaf blower isn't very advanced! The true jet works nicely, I'm thinking of adding an afterburner to it but it's quite a challenge to engineer in my garage. | |||

Power to weight is great but you need to rev the nuts off them to get any degree of performance. They drink fuel and they consume oil almost at the same rate. They will also require a full rebuild around 80,000 miles due to wear in the rotor tips. This requires a specialist as most garages won't touch them, this then leads to high bills. | |||

It would of been cheaper to rebuild the old engine but I fancied a project and had some inheritance so blew it on something I loved but yeah the bill was eye watering Personally I think the S15 Silvia is a far better looking car than the RX anyway, so I'd have just bought one of those and tuned the tits off it, maybe gone down the route of fitting the RB27 engine from a Skyline... Oooo the s15 spec r is a dream I'm tempted by one at the moment that will be going through the Japanese auction next week, insane spec and quite cheap start price. They are awesome cars and have looks to die for They're immensely tunable too, even with the 2.0 16v engine you can get a reliable 500bhp from them." It's possible but a huge undertaking. new ECU, full rewire, loads of engine bay alterations, new gearbox, new prop-shaft, modified diff, probably a new intercooler or at least some degree of modification to the old one. I'd expect the bill for the parts alone to be almost equal to the value of the original car and labour would have been astronomical. It would have made far more sense to rebuild the original Wankel. My old 575bhp Cossie ate 3 gearboxes....lol | |||
