Disguising faces in photos

I'm in a dilemma, I think pictures showing all of someone are great, and I also understand why people don't want they're faces seen.

I can't decide as to wether I prefer a picture cropped at the shoulders or the whole pic with the face blackened or those swirls which seem to make them look frankly a little strange, well to my boggle eyes.

What are your thoughts.

At least if part of the face is blacked out you get to see the outline and hair.

I tend to just chop off heads !!

Not literally of course, but I can't be doing with swirly whirly things on my face... Guess it's what works with the picture in question.

Most of time I chop our heads off as I think it looks better. Depending on the pic sometimes I will use a tile effect that blends in more than a big black circle.
