"Apparently 50% of our trade is with the EU. Could this trade be under threat if we leave the EU? Would it matter? Actually this "trade" is in fact a defecit. According to the OBR. This trade is actually costing us over £40Bn per year (we buy more than we sell!) In 1972 60% of our trade was with the rest of Europe (the EU didn't exist then) Are we better in or out?" I'd say in...

I guess there is no one to blame We're leaving ground Will things ever be the same again? It's the final countdown... We're heading for Venus and still we stand tall Cause maybe they've seen us and welcome us all With so many light years to go and things to be found I'm sure that we'll all miss her so.

"Just because we would no longer be under the EU umbrella we could still trade with the EU. the greedy bastards in Brussels need to start by relaxing some of the bullshit laws they bring in at the drop of a hat.And close the boarders that are wide open we as a country are on our knees, we have trouble funding ourselves without giving them Billions of our hard earned... Get us the fuck out asp" Yeah! we would become an EFTA member, european free trade association, such as Norway; Switzerland; Iceland, and others. It would mean that the free movement of European citizens would end, we could reintroduce border control and send some of the european migrants home. It would also protect us from the influx from the Ukrane, Maldova, and the Georgian mafia, when the EU fast tracks those ex soviet territories to full European membership to further piss off Putin

"Is it The Final Countdown? after Camerons defeat today over EU president it might be." I never thought I'd say this but at least Maggie would go in & come back with what she wanted. He's like an over grown school prefect. A total numpty.

".....but that Cameron, - what a complete wanker; doesn't anyone else cringe when that preposterous etonite slimy scumbag appears on tv as a reminder of the national acute ignorance? .......maybe it's just me, then......." No, its not just you.

"Switzerland seems to be doing ok out of the mess thats called euroland" Presumably you have read that elsewhere as opposed to researched it. Switzerland is back peddling like crazy over the February referendum to limit EU migration because of the threat of EU sanctions. They are outside of the EU but effectively cannot influence any EU policy and are simply lemmings that have to follow the dictat. What are we? Isolationist lemmings or team players committed to an inclusive future? Being team players means working as a team with Jonny Foreigner - a concept that more and more little Englanders are finding increasingly difficult to cope with.

It was a vote about the future EU leadership. 26 countries (including France who are more anti EU at the moment than the UK) voted for Juncker. Neither Mrs Thatcher, Winston Churchill nor flavour of the month Herr Farage could have made any difference whatsoever.

It would also protect us from the influx from the Ukrane, Maldova, and the Georgian mafia, when the EU fast tracks those ex soviet territories to full European membership to further piss off Putin" You might want to do a quick fact check on your assertions. The founding members of EFTA were Austria, Denmark, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Finland became an associate member in 1961 (becoming a full member in 1986) and Iceland joined in 1970. The United Kingdom and Denmark joined the EEC in 1973, and hence ceased to be EFTA members. Portugal also left EFTA for the European Community in 1986. Austria, Sweden and Finland joined the EU in 1995 and thus ceased to be EFTA members. EFTA is considered to be a cautious route IN to the EU and not a way out. The very nature of EFTA is that it is required to adhere to all EU dictats but without having a seat at the table and therefore no input. EFTA members historically went into the EU in order to have more say in the dictats that come out - not the other way round. Why would you leave a group to have no say in future group rules if you were still going to be committed and obligated by the group rules?

"We can and we must We can trade with our commonwealth, tell me one thing that we can't buy or sell from Europe that we can't get from them. We would even get to make our own laws again. UKIP is the answer, you know it makes sense" UKIP is most certainly the answer for people who mistakenly think that there are simple solutions to complex problems. Nigel Farage is the one man crusade to fix all our problems isn't he? Uh.... No.

"originally the then called common market was formed to form a trading alliance that could compete globally with the likes of the usa,it as moved on from being a trading alliance to being a federal type govt trying to control the laws of member states, and these decisions are made by officials that none of the public in any of the member countries have had a say in appointing,we need to get out and start making laws for the British people here in Britain,by a govt elected by the British people" Bravo bravo

"Switzerland seems to be doing ok out of the mess thats called euroland" Switzerland is super expensive, £ 28 for a trim, steal at £ 42 a kilo. Trade is run by cartels who artificially inflate prices. Low taxes and good wages are fine, but you can pay four times as much for goods there,as anywhere else in Europe. Being out of Europe creates import tax issues, that the consumer pays handsomely for. That's why many nip into Germany or wherever for their weekly big shop.
