Never used ebay but tomorrow I will, I hope!

Went to replace everyday cheap dinner ware from supermarket, thought maybe spend £20, as went passed charity shop my eye caught by a 50 piece Wedgewood dinner service......£9.99 the lot.

Will be there when they open in morning lol - no chance I will sleep in as market is set up outside my bedroom from 4.30a.m Anyone use ebay & got tips?...have never use it before...thanks in advance for any tips

For a tenner i would buy it and use it after all its cheep enough. What would you get for that in tesco's? A couple of plates?

well wanted cheapo taht if smashed washing it woul,dnt matter, but it is REALLY nice dinner service & reckon either ebay or auction, got a Royal Crown Derby dinner service already so no need for more flash

Pitch it to the right market and you could be on a winner. John Lewis are displaying flowery tea sets for garden/summer dining...check their website.

Wow so if you got £5 a piece its a £240 profit. Even if its only £2 a piece you will get 10x what you paid for it.

will be at shop as theyopen doors in mornig =- never been lucky before so maybe this time, thanks for the replys they are appreciated I can't fin it on Wedgewood, but to my eye looks Georgian period i.e floral yellowy. so maybe realy good, then again at thaht price sod my dinner service can flod that for a fair price instead ( Royal Crown Derby, Marquis )

To me they are all plates. coloured or plain. Crock or paper lol. Good luck with buying and selling though and if you see an old Triumph in the window shout.

Re: eBay, do your research about what you are buying first, so that you have an idea what the price should be when new etc...

I always read the description fully before making a purchase, including postage/delivery charges, and return policy.

I also read the feedbacks, especially the neutral and negative ones to establish if they are genuine issues, or just newbies with unrealistic expectations.

Beware of cheap items with stonking postage and packaging charges. For many listings, the P&P is for a single item, and if you buy multiples of the same item, you pay multiple P&Ps! Always ask for combined shipping reduction even if they are not on offer.

Remember to ask questions BEFORE you bid, because if your bid ends up being the winning one, you'll have to cough up, regardless whether you have had replies for all your queries. Otherwise the seller can file a complaint against you for non-payment.

I love sniping on eBay when time allows, as in placing a bid very close to the closing time, in the hope to bag a bargain.

I have had some fantastic buys on eBay, and only a handful of duff ones!

my daughter had an ebay wedding ...her dad didnt want to foot the bill so we bought and sold on ebay for 2 years and had a 10000 pound wedding on the proceeds ...we even bought her bargain wedding dress which had been used in a photshoot for cosmopolitan bride was a £1300 dress got it at the last minute for 180 ..thats was 7 years ago tho ebay isnt what it used to be tho too full of people flogging new stuff now ..but wish u well even tho thae market for china is at an all time low !!!

Just brought an Italian Ice Cream display counter for £600, it is less than Six months old and still under a Two year warranty......Original price new?.....£2900.

Even got the seller to split the £300 delivery charge 50/50 with me.

Out of curiosity I checked the price of my Royal Doulton tea set I inherited on their own site.... the teapot, creamer and sugar bowl alone are worth £112 pounds!

My grandson and I play tea party with it!!!

ive just had my 3 grandaughters sing me happy birthday (it was on weds!!1)on the phone made my day ...then one of them said nanny can i ask you a question ??? how old are you ?? she said it so serious !!! i told he is was 55 and she said...thats really old i dodnt know you were that old ...shes 5 what does she know ????

lol well can't say as blame them realy as they have to have a lot of sales every day, though at reduced shop ernatl they can't be missing targets!, to poster about Triumph - shop opposite has one if you are interested - in a wee cardboard box though
