Hi can anyone please help with protocol as I've never been to a hen weekend.

My cousin gets married in August, her hen weekend is July. Were going to a lodge near birmingham Friday-Monday 6 of us,me bride mum of bride and 3 bridesmaids.

The lodge has cost us £150 each excluding bride as we covered hers. I need to get the train from Glasgow so that's £145 I need to pay which rest don't. I've got bride a gift and will be bringing some Scottish foods since wedding is in glasgow. Each also have the costs of clothes etc.

I now know full plans and bridesmaid has costed food decorations etc to £200 which she expects to be split 5 ways £40 each.

Personally I think this is bit much that bride pays 0

Help as don't want to be the bitch bridesmaids havnt met

Personally I think hen weekend have gone mad the last few years!! Mine was a meal out and down the pub after.

It must be lovely to go away etc but the cost is insane!! I've turned down at least half a dozen over the past few years due them costing a ridiculous amount! One was a week in cancun!

Yeah I agree it's gone bit mad. If it wasn't family I doubt I'd go.

Maybe I'm being mean costing wise also not liking sounds of organiser. Mum of bride said I'll be bringing some Scottish things for breakfast(sausages and potato scones) and was asked "they don't have haggis for breakfasts do they?"

My uncle died Monday and funeral may change hen wkd plans and organiser acknowledged my cousins (his 2nd and 3rd cousins) but didn't even say a word to me.

If you haven't paid for anything yet just cancel it. You obviously aren't looking forward it and this will mean you won't enjoy it while your there. Think of a good excuse and stick to it.

It's just not hen or stag w/end that has gone crazy, what about those who choose to get married abroad then think everyone they invite can afford to go

Bride traditionally shouldn't have to pay for her hen night. But in this day an age many do. I didn't pay for mine but wasn't that extravagant just dinner and club sone came to both others came just dinner or just club. I never actually asked anyo e to pay for me they just agreed among themselves. I think that as you have huge extra expense of travel you should be let off the 200 cost.

I think it totally wrong for bride to expect her guests to oay for her too considering it is costi g so much.

I'm organising my friends hen that is much less and many pulled out due to cost and it was originally only going to cost each guest about 76 each which covered. Party bus food decorations and club entry. Now I'm planning a much cheaper hen and only asking 25 to cover club entry private table and nibbles but seems this is to much for some too which I think utter nonsense

I've already paid and bout train ticket.

It's not bride expects us to pay for her it's the bridesmaid organising assumed we will cover her cost. Add to it she also wants everyone bringing varietys of chocolate and 2 bottles of wine each. How do I tell them I think it's unfair expect everyone to pay everything for bride. I agree on a night out yeah pay for her dinner and drinks but bit much expect me to pay train plus rest of costs.

Maybe I'm just bitchy that she's not replied when I messaged her didn't acknowledge was my uncle died and can't even spell my name right!
