Looked at me Option

This is available to paid members....now there's a reason to cough up a fiver every couple of months!

Anyway to those of you who have this option, anyone noticed the amount of people looking at your profile, in our case, of a lot younger age than you? So you obviously investigate their profile and find...only meeting 21-35 or under 36 or some such.

Now why on earth do they even bother looking at your profile when it quite clearly says you are both knocking fifty or even older? Sorry I just can't fathom this out.

Some people just click on every profile online.... and some people look to see who the people they are planning to meet have met.

Personally I can't see much use in the 'looked at me' function.... other than spotting the odd-balls who seem to look at your profile 20 times per day.

Agree with you, and if they are interested they will contact you. I'm not really bothered who looks and dont contact, only the ones who do write to us

Perhaps its when you write something in one of the forums and they want to have a look at the person saying it.

I.e- just read a post where yet another single guy was whinging about no meets and a lot of people had been to his profile to look at his verifications (6 in 6 months) and commented on this.

I might have had a look at the profile of the older couple who posted on here just to see what they looked like having read this.

Its just human curiosity i think.

Maybe looking 20 times a day gives an indication their interested, just nervous about taking the next step, I suspect their hoping “You” will make the first contact

Then they should do a username search for 'Bob Hope'

um... why be on here if you don't want people looking at your profile? Surely look upon it as a compliment that someone has looked? Its a sight that your profile or persona is interesting surely...

Its human nature to look and watch and that... have a nose about... just chill out surely... It unerves me when guys check my profile out but its up to them... and equally its lead to some nice friendly chats with some lovely women that have looked but not messaged me... it can all help to break the ice aurely?

So I'm happy to pay my fiver and get this option... and in many respects I'd prefer everybody to pay the token fee too... might just then out the losers and time wasters that everybody seems to come across... hum...

Someone paying a fiver doesn't make them any more genuine or any less likely to waste your time I am afraid.

I have been on enough pay sites to know that.

I agree and you don't know the persons age until you look at the profile!!

I don't search profiles but if someone has written something funny, annoying etc in the forums I click on their profile to get a better insight!

As others have said: human nature!

I do this too. Is there the reverse option where you can see from someone's profile which threads they have contributed to? (I don't think I have noticed this, but maybe I'm a bit slow)

Sometimes I look at profiles and wonder if they post on here, you can tell a lot about people from their forum postings, but when there's pages of threads about FIGHT etc you can't easily tell who has posted anything a bit more significant, even if it was only a day or so ago.

Or, you change your profile pic often, and perverts like me see a pic of a perfect arse, click on the profile to find it's one of the ones that isn't looking for someone like me, and one I've already looked at recently.

My apologies to any Gold members who have noticed me repeatedly looking at their profile, I call it entrapment!

Yeah and why do they look at your profile and then say they have no interest wot so ever!! or say we dont do single guys? so why look in the 1st place? Most odd?

Don't get me wrong, there is no problem with youngsters looking at our profile at all, especially if their own says they don't mind meeting older people. But when they state nobody over a certain age, why not use the age filter? Even the browse facility shows screen names and ages, so there really is no need for them to look at people outside their bracket, spooky!

we look in anyones profile just to see what them people are like where they from etc, so i say if you dont like people looking at your profile then hide it do somethin, but my main point is if we click on a persons profile and says do not wink or message us if your under '30' then we wont so there must be a dont look rule now if your under a certain age is that it...

picking up on this - besides the regular posters - I look at people who posted funny, witty or even serious contributions - the way somebody posts does not give the whole story but tells you something about the personality I feel.

Would be much better to be able to set an age limit to viewing ones profile, for example, i would possibly set mine so that no-one under 30-35 could view my profile, would save all the youngsters wasting their time, in saying that though, doesnt stop them sending me messages

isn't stopping someone looking at your profile, whatever age, taste etc as futile as trying to stop people looking at you in the street or a bar?.....just curious as I don't see any difference and don't understand why there are any objections to be looked at
