sore throat

as no one cared that i have a sore throat on the whinging thread i have started my own thread about it

i hae a sore throat (only on the right side though) my tonsil is huuuuge!!!!

have taken some painkillers for it but they have not touched it

if no better in the monring it is time to seek proper medical advice - could be a bacterial tonsillitis - not to be messed with and posssibly in need of antibiotics - seriously - please take care of yourself xx

Ouch............ best off to the docs tomorrow.......

I sometimes find gargling with salt water helps (but I know it's not everyone's cup of tea! or soluble asprin)

oh i can sympathise hun !! i have problems at times too with my tonsils . you may well need antibiotics from doc ohh and the numbing throat spray helps alil too .believe it or not sucking extra strong mints helps ease things a tad aswell. xx

got any disolverble painkillers,

if you have gargle with them and then spit them out

will work leaves a leyer of painkiller in infected area,

soothes.

if its not better by tomorrow i will try and get in the docs but they are bloody useless - you hae to know you are going to be ill in 2 weeks time!!

Provocative is right on this one lol - push the doctor for it - untreated tonsillitis can have long term effects - not saying that is the acse for you but dont take chances in this instance.

Also - just think you cannot do any BJ if your throat is sore - so dont suffer but push for appointment xxxx

Yep the docs for sure I ended up in hospital with a bad throat once for about 3 days............!!

~EVEsham hun- this is the best advice - i am a long term sufferer of tonsilitis - and even got told off by the doc when i was 17 for self medicating!!!

LOL

they wontgive you antibitics now unless you have those yellow spots,a fever, sickness and summat else i cant remember!

there are 4 points that you need before they will give you antibiotics.

The last time i went to docs when i couldnt swallow (SHAME) or even talk without gagging, cos my tonnsils were so huge -

Gargle dissolvable asprin and suck ice cubes!!!

I was fuming!!!

I had the same earlier this week and it was tonsilitis .... off to the quacks girl and get the antibiotics xxx

i drank the skittles vodka last week though

still hurts and have tried to gargle soluable aspirin. if its still bad come monday i'm off to the docs

I lost my voice for nearly three weeks and it started with one side of my throat hurting.But then no pain at all.... I have no tonsils and had to have antibiotics as apparantly i had an infection on my vocal cords etc. ..strange

gargle with cider vinegar, but DO NOT SWALLOW, it is about the only thing I know that is almost 100% ideal for sore throats no matter what the cause.
