Advice pls when you arange a drink with some one with a view to poss taking it further, and you meet and the spark dosnt ignite for you ,

how do you say no thanks without being rude or offending the other party

Straight up and say, "Sorry, however, it is unlikely for me to take it further, as you are not my type, and I do not feel any sparks between us." etc...

Worked for me!

Honestly? Well the best thing to do is say there isn't a spark physically. Tell them you enjoy their company and say thanks and goodnight.

Serious answer to your original question?

Honesty works best - I... we would just say something like we had a lovely evening/ chat or whatever we had but we dont feel the chemistry is right.

Most people are totally ok with that as it is honest and not offensive.
