Why is it that one week the news is telling us we are living longer and so need to raise retirement age for people (which is why firemen and women are protesting).

then in the next week there is a report that 1 in 4 people are now obese and heart disease is up, diabetes is on the rise and we are eating our selves into an early grave.

This generation are at risk of dieing before their parents.

and that there is thought of intruducing a fat tax on foods with high fat and high sugar.

annoys me how they will use each argument to suit their agenda on what ever takes more money from peoples pockets.

sorry little sunday rant ha

Was just somthing I heard on radio on way home from gym and got me thinking.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Both stories about longer lives and early deaths are true but they relate to different generations. The common bit I both stories is the cost of these trends and the care implications - made worse because the generation to provide the care to the older, aging, longer living aren't fit enough to do it.

I get really annoyed with celebrity gossip being presented as news.

I get really annoyed with the story bias on race and gender.

Good subject, OP.
