after i disclosed my number somewhere in fabswingers, i started getting sms regarding "your loan has been accepted...bla bla bla"

Your details have probably been sold to a shady marketing agent. I doubt it has anything to do with the person you gave your number to, just a random coincidence.

thing is

people do sell phone lists for marketing and it happens more than you know, the same as emails

if you are in doubt whn signing up for something give a fake number or email

Computers randomly sift through all no permutations and send spam messages out. Even the queen has probably been accepted for a loan and PPI claim assistance, but for special branch intercepting those texts. Putting your personal info into cyberspace is asking for trouble - bots crawl the net looking for it, partly to sell it on.
