Since big brother appeared on channel 4, together with the rise of social media, it seems to linked with people becoming more narcissistic and with a greater sense of entitlement.

We live in a society, where everything that is wrong is something or someone elses fault.

Narcissism has always existed, Big Bro is just another outlet for it.

True ..

But nonetheless an outlet that reaches millions of people via the telly box..

Teens need better role models then a load of desperate wannabees..,people who aspire to something, have achieved something.

Probably peer pressure and social media. It amazes me how many people (of all ages!) post their every waking hour on facebook, desperate for attention. It's sad really.

Gosh my spelling is brutal these days hence the deletion above.

I only watch the tellybox these days for the occasional documentary.

Advertising placements irritate me,so I have them blocked on the hinternet also.I am of the belief that society is too heavily influenced by them as well as the portrayal of an idyllic lifestyle in trashy magazines etc, this then feeds into a sense of entitlement for which the flawed character of the narcissist may thrive.

That was a bit heavy for my little brain,I'm off to perve ladies bottoms now.Oh and by the way ,it's all about me,got that!!!!

“Our youth now love luxury. They have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for their elders and love chatter in place of exercise; they no longer rise when elders enter the room; they contradict their parents, chatter before company; gobble up their food and tyrannize their teachers.”

Socrates. Every generation believes that the next is bad.

I find big brother is for people who haven't yet grown up. I dont know who or why else people would put themselves through tedious, mind-nummbingly, childish, mud throwing contests for 10 weeks and actually enjoy it if was otherwise.

MAMOBA, miles and miles of bugger all (Aberdeenshire)

I think there are loads of reasons... people become "famous" for the most vacuous reasons now... fame is no longer linked to any kind of achievement or endeavor, therefore many folk think they are entitled to their 15 minutes of fame.

Personally, I think shows like that essex nonsense, the geordie version and other mindless tv tat is to blame. Bring back celebrity actually having a link to talent.

I can remember shows like hughie green did and michael miles

It was black and white telly then with

michael miles he used to have question boxes with ? question marks on you had to guess the question from that box

it was all looked on in them days as

up market telly and the audience were

enthralled in it then opportunity knocks

he was,nt a bad entertainer he was certainly different little and large

and peters and lee were some of his stars what a different world it is now and

the golden shot with bob monkhouse bernie the bolt and the crossbow, sky tv

was a sparkle in yer eye then, frankie howard up pompei whhhhoooo the list goes

on whatever anyone wants to say about

past performers thats there choice I,d

have them back anyday.
