on the continent people tend to have mixed saunas and they dont wear towels or swim suits.

What are people's views on the matter ?

Whenever i have looked its always been difficult to see through the steamed up glass window.

I'd be quite happy to be in a mixed sauna, totally starkers.

when i go to a club I don't wear a towel when i am in the sauna or in the steam rooms... but each to there own

(p.s you getting a sauna in then.. can i come!!!! )

I am seriously thinking about it - I love saunas and have grown up with the nudist attitude - yes, to answer your question - you can come and we can have a party

I don,t see the point of wearing a towel in them,they're too hot anyway

I went into a steam room once though,could'nt see a thing and sat on some poor guy.....glad he had a towel on at the time

probably a really boring answer.....I think dirty feet and how easy to pick up something that takes forever to get rid of.....

We have a suana at home and often have friends over for a bathe. Naked of course.

Rather than throwing a ladle of cold water on the rocks, try throwing a small glass of brandy... Has a wonderful effect!

That sounds interesting and a change from the usual water or scented water - I am thinking of having a small sauna put into my next house - apparently not that difficult to install?

We had a sauna in our hotel in Austria. There was a big notice saying - nude only, no costumes. Everyone including us complied, but one night there was a young couple inside in swimming costumes - yes, you've guessed it - Brits of course, we must be the most repressed race in Europe.!

That is interesting - I notice in our local Leisure/Gym facility that there are quite a few ladies who will change ina a cubicle rather than in front of other ladies - is this about being body conscious or more about being a bit repressed from Victorian times?
