is the hardest word they say

What do you do when you know you were wrong about something or somebody?

How do you put things right?

maidstone

an unconditional and genuine apology tha clearly demonstrates you've understood what you did wrong and the impact it had on the person.

i say unconditional as its up to the recipient as to whether they wish to accept the apology or not and i should also be big enough to accept the consequences of my actions, including them staying mad at me.

hard stuff

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

Try and give an honest explanation about why you think it happened.

Acknowledge your part in it.

Express regret.

Hope to move on.

Just for you lol - in the unlikely event you might have been wrong about somebody and upset them - how do you make up, put things right between you and the other person whom you may have inadvertently upset.

Talk it through, let both sides put their point across, discuss, hope that you both see where the other is coming from. Be gracious in making and/or accepting an apology. Works for me

Inadvertently? Mine are always full on.

Your question supposes the injured party knows?

In that case, as SDM said, be honest, admit it, sincere and full apology, possibly in writing too, and move on. If bridges are burnt, don't rebuild, build more.

I've also find that some people don't deserve an apology.

Some things run to deep and no matter what is said an apology no matter how heartfelt would never be accepted.

At that point let go and get on with your life

There again, there are circumstances where you are definitely in the wrong but no apology is due , or sought.

Sometimes life is just like that.

Not always no. Sometimes though the damage is done and no rebuilding is allowed.

And even with the benefit of hindsight, i reckon a number of the wrongs would still be done.

What is wrong to one party is not always wrong to another.

I was let down badly by someone I thought was a friend this weekend and I wish they thought I was worth a proper apology but he thinks it easier to walk away. Unfortunately these situation affect your mutual friends/play mates too. All because the wrong doer doesn't want to say sorry properly. Personally I hate unpleasantness and would prefer to clear the air.

iv done that once i had let a guy down twice, once with kiddo being poorly another time a family member in hospital luckily he understood and didnt hold a grudge! i think in a situation like that no one could be expected to text just for somethin as trivial as a meet i know when it happened to me, it was the furthest thing from my mind to text anyone x

I had a "situation" with somebody last year, which left us not as friendly as we had been and it was a real shame as it could have been aired and sorted then. Luckily I met the person again earlier this year - I took the opportunity to mention how I felt and that I was sorry our friendship had cooled off as a result of one event.

It was amazing that it only took that statement to bring things back to what they had been before the EVENT - and I am so happy we have reconnected again.

My suggestion - try and clear the air - the swinging world is a small world and it is just nicer to be clear and at peace with people IMHO - best of luck xx

It is probably also about the need for people to tell fibs - and once yuou told one you have to continue the story - and that makes me wonder why people are doing this in the first place. Usually people tell lies/ fibs whatever you call it becuase they are in fear. In fear of being caught out, being told off, in fear of whatever the consequence.

In the swinging world, in theory there is no real need to lie though - is there?

Hence no need to feed bullshit?

Just an observation really
