Yes, I've heard of the concept. They're usually called anti-jokes once the person who posted it has been given an ear bashing. In other words it's just a poor excuse for bad judgement.

thanks for the wise words...very well said...although this isnt really anyone making fun of anyone considering the fact that it's an anti joke.....a sentance worded in a literal manner that can be interpreted by some (with a sense of humour) to be funny and to other's ,offensive/un-funny (without a sense of humour)....will all the people without a sense of humour put your hand up and stand to the right and all the people with a sense of humour stand on the left and attempt to touch your tip of your nose with your tongue whilst rubbing your head with one hand and hopping on your left foot in a clockwise circle

There are plenty of funny anti jokes to choose from but your choice was poorly made, meaning your humour must be the same. Just saying.

i guess it's fair to say that everyone's entitled to their own opinion irregardless of how boring it may be i welcome diversity as the world would be such a dull place if everyone was the same especially if everyone was boring

lol you are of course entitled to your opinion but i simply went to an anti-jokes website and copy and pasted the first joke there....then again it might be said that your choice of anti joke might be in bad taste aswell....if you live in a glass house...dont throw stone's they say ;0 or as 2pac would say "only god can judge me" are you god? do you have a magic staff to bring the dead back to life? i think that's bordering on the fringe's of a necrophiliac anti joke

Yes, disabled people often joke about their conditions, I work for one of the country's largest disability charities and I'm very used to it, it's like laughing in the face of adversity. But Alzheimer's is a horrific disease that destroys a person, there is no bright side to it.

haha.....im as chilled as one can be on a chilly afternoon in scotland.....no offence but i dont think you'll have a need for a joke that you can tell your family for generations to come if you dont invest more energy into getting your end away on here as procreation (or at least practising it) is the purpose of our existence.....p.s i have to say that i doubt id be repeating your snoop/dr dre anti joke to any of my gangster rapper family and friends for generations to come if at all

Clearly the site is in decline as instead of swinging we are now reduced to arguing over what is or isn't a joke/ anti joke etc.

Try smiling, counting your blessings and post relevant swing related stuff, it's far more fun x

Clearly not, south american humour is actually very well developed, don't confuse us with the US of A, that's an insult (no offence to anyone from there). Anyway, within your context then ..you found his anti joke funny as hell, and probably were rolling on the floor in stitches....?

Latino humour is much better than US, Spanish or dare I say UK, but you won't understand it as you don't have the words for most things sorry bud.

the site has been in decline ever since it started (well according to some folk anyways) but should we stand back and do nothing or should we try by any means necessary to ignite the fire and bring some life back into the heart of swinging...although i have to wholeheartedly agree with you that life is about so much more than looking on the nagative side of life and finding fault with other's when we should more importantly focus on the positive aspects of life and live each day like it's our last coz to be honest each day is for many people is their last in more ways than one and if not then it's a step closer to the dreaded last day and when all's said and done...100 years from now no one will care either way about something so trivial blah blah blah yakety smakety

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I added my hmmm as Alzheimer's is really difficult when you're dealing with it.

My mother variously thinks of me as her mother or her aunt and very occasionally does she remember I am her daughter. That bit doesn't make me cry.

The stuff that makes me cry is when she is violent towards me and others and when she knows she isn't herself anymore and she can't stop crying.

I joke about many things, including dementia, but it has to be a funny joke and this was just too lame to be a funny joke.

im sorry to hear about your mother and your trials and tribulations...but once again i should point out that this wasnt strictly a joke therefore there was no expectation for anyone to find it hilarious or even mildly amusing...but if it initiated discourse relating to your pain and suffering and inspired you to share the burden with us then it cant be said to be such a bad thing at the end of the day as a problem shared is a problem halved as they say....it's good to talk as bob hoskins (or was it phil colins ) used to say on that old BT advert back in the day before cellphones and justin bieber

The (anti) joke was shit and in poor taste whichever way you try to justify it.settle pettle....why so anal? you need to get laid...and the good news is your in the right place for it...live...love...laugh..wake up and do it all over again and again and again

Once you've seen people suffer and die from it and the effect it has on their families and friends you'll realize that Alzheimer's is no laughing matter (or anti-joking).

Yes, disabled people often joke about their conditions, I work for one of the country's largest disability charities and I'm very used to it, it's like laughing in the face of adversity. But Alzheimer's is a horrific disease that destroys a person, there is no bright side to it.

I get laid quite enough thanks...Oh Come on you must have a sense of humour look at the hat your wearing, I certainly don't have the humour to wear that lol"

I have a great sense of humour...I think the hat proves it to a point. I just draw the line at distasteful apparent 'anti-jokes' about horrific diseases that can affect any one of us or our loved ones. I also find the attempt to justify it quite pathetic.

An Englishman, an Irishman and a Scotsman walk into a bar.

Apparently they had a really good night. Sharing with, and laughing at, each others' cultural differences in a none offensive manner.

It's discourse. Sometimes it leads to intercourse.

Threads go up. Some threads disappear. The forum would be realllllly dull if every thread just had the OP on it.

Views can differ and still be interesting.
