Thought I'd post this on here as there are thousands of people on here an maybe some people can help me.

I've just paid 250 pound 2 get my teeth whitened by the dentist and im not very happy with them

I've been watching videos on you tube that you can use baking soda and lemon has anyone tried this before??

If you're not happy go back to the dentist and say so. 250 is a lot of money to say nothing. They will more then likely fix the problem for free if not demand your money back.

I got mine lasered. It hurt like hell even though beforehand I'd been and got my teeth sorted.

If you are not happy go back to them and let them know they may or should offer to re-whiten them to get them the correct shade you still have statutory rights even with a dentist.

Im back there soon just thought they would have been a bit more whiter than what they are now

so I was kinda hoping I could just top it up tryin somethin else without using the teeth whitener

I've stil got some left so hopefully by the time I do go back im happy with the results if not I wil be saying something

When I had a beard I was told my teeth looked whiter.That doesn't help you though,but it might help some of the other guys on here...

You werent given tetracycline as a child? If you were, then it wont work. If I wanted mine done, the only way is veneers.

it is working just not as much as I wanted there white guess I maybe just bein 2 fussy teeth are a big thing

Speak to the dentist, my aunt had the dentist do hers she had to put a paste on the remove the enamel then they bleached the teeth, her teeth are now very sensitive though,

My suggestion, Wear a low cut top, guys might say ' wow great smile,,!' being a bloke it won t be your teeth they re talking to,

my point is your opening post hinted that your dentist had done the tooth whitening for you when he hadn't.

There is tooth whitening you can get for £99 which is very good sometimes you can get it even cheaper through Groupon maybe worth looking into.

And tea. my sister drinks shits loads and hers are really stained.

I've quit smoking and my are much whiter and you don't get that scummy coating anymore. or bad breath. or dry mouth.

A friend had a similar sounding product from her dentist... Used it over a few weeks ... If you havn't used it all yet maybe it's a gradual thing and end result will be ok once you finished using it all? ... You can buy toothpastes and some have baking powder in em... Nice teeth and a sexy Smile go a long way

Or you can just do what my mum did and get all your teeth removed and have dentures. Just get them repainted periodically.

I have had experience with zoom! First of all what was your tooth shade before treatment? Was it green - grey or yellow - brown base? Yellow are better for whitening, anyway... A2 or better is expected, those shades are what teenagers have. If you have tooth erosion then your dentin will be showing through, and dentil is always yellow, so getting something abrasive such as baking soda on them will make it worse. You can use it with normal toothpaste instead of lemon, lemon literally will melt enamel if used frequently. I use baking soda with normal toothpaste once a week and my teeth are between a1-a2 I'm happy with them. Dental floss is your friend as well as almonds And sugar free chewing gum. And avoid everything that stains your teeth like smoking, fizzy drinks, coffee, tea, if you have it rinse your mouth with water straight after, also DO NOT brush your teeth after every meal, brush your teeth one hour after.

Drink plenty of water.

Also try this regenerate toothpaste it is quite dear at 10 quid but apparently it helps your teeth mineralise and make your enamel stronger ..so they claim, you have nothing to lose. I'm gonna get mine from boots later.

Hope this helped. If you want a Hollywood white you won't get it with normal bleaching, you will need veneers and probably stronger and more expensive treatments.

I had mine done using a laser, but they did advise from the start, the whiteness level reached varied greatly from one person to the next.

As other people advised, coffee, wine, smoking or basically anything that stains your teeth makes the brightness not so bright!

They also said to stick to 'white' food and to drink through a straw for the first few days after the treatment.

I was told if you don't follow this regime then its a waste of money.

I now stick with the 'whitening' toothpastes and they seem to do the job just as well.

Just had mine done this morning and they look fantastic and all for just under £200 I guess it depends on the dentist.

A lot of the whitening toothpastes have baking soda in as suggested by someone else
