Ha ha ha, also if like us you wear bib shorts it's not that easy to drop pants and get it on, " Maybe there's a niche market in cycling apparel for the cycling swinger....Some delightful elephant trunk cycling bib shorts or edible chamois inserts....though they certainly wouldn't have a very long shelf life blehhh

"How often do you go out on the bike liddy? I've only been up past scam dam a few time and towards where the ice cream van parks if you know what I mean?!" Do you use strava?

"I Mr liddy try to get out 5 times a week, I'm in training for a duathalon so have to mix it up a bit between cycling and running, think I know where you mean, I ride up there but come up the other way from denshaw" Denshaw over to Sowerby Bridge is one of my favourite climbs, the views are fantastic from the top.

Yeah that's nice, but I tend to go up the other way from denshaw up to scammy and then back down through barkisland

"Can't say I've ever had the urge when cycling" That's an easy problem to solve, either change your saddle for one that hits the spot or change its angle...

"How lucky you guys are to have such wonderful areas to cycle. Have to stick bike in the car if I want decent scenery to ride amongst " We are, although on the outer edges of Manchester i can be in the hills in 10 minutes with routes than can take me North, East or South into beautiful scenery and some testing hills. Cragg Vale is nearby, Pendle Hill not far away etc.

By the dam? Yeah I think so, there's some nice rides to be had round Huddersfield, I like to ride up Jackson bridge and out to Sheffield then come back all the way on penistone road and Wakefield road

"Two evening rides for me this week, Weds 36 mile/2100ft ascent at an av.17.7mph & last nights 23.5mile/1400ft ascent at 18.02mph av. Aiming for over 500 miles per month but only on 2225 miles for the yr so far, bad weather & a broken bike in feb/march kept my mileage down. Must do better.." That's a good effort, I'm in the must try harder group too but only because I'm lazy I have no excuse lol

Conversely i found its impossible to go for a leisurely ride because i wanted to push it all the time!

"I've not bought any of these yet, I will depending on how much I like it..although I've cheapish ones on eBay but I'm guessing they will be rubbish" Er.. It does rather depend on what you want it for really. If you want a simple computer to give you speed/time/distance etc you don't have to spend much, if you want GPS capabilities for mapping/route finding etc then they aren't cheap. I have a Mio 505 unit, cost me £230 but it has WiFi, full UK & Ireland maps, get me home function, surprise me function, Di2 and Bluetooth compatibility so i find it pretty useful.

"I have a friend who is made for climbing, you'll be sat on his wheel blowing out your ring, he turns looks at you and says right let's go for it and bang he's gone out of sight in no time, makes me sick lol" I used to love doing that to people, nowadays it happens to me a lot. As for descending I love it, only time it went wrong was showing off. I had my chin a few inches off my stem, I hit a bump and the stem hit my chin. Thank god my ego and chin were the only things bruised.

Just to give you idea of how quick he climbs, there expecting the pros to go up cragg in around 16 to 18 minutes, he's done it in 18.07, where as I'm at 25 minutes
