I know it's spring, but is it wrong to make mince pies?

i love them and love making them , do mincey pies just have to be for christmas?

My hubby's just read this and is now giving me grief, he's stocked up with four jars and said I've got to start baking some now!!! I could eat Christmas pudding all year round though so I'm as bad.

are we talking about the sweet mince pies or the savoury ones,.... two different things where i come from.....

Savory ones are gorgeous regardless....

Home made ones are nice or flaky pastry ones but some of the mass produced ones are a bit sickly.

Cold mince pies covered in hot custard is just soooo nice! The coolness of the pie combines perfectly with the heat of the custard. Love them! Any time of the year!

Got to be sweet ones, home made of course not the shop bought variety, yuk. Warm straight from the oven, think I'll have to make some now.

MMMM...but I like it tother way round...nummm..nummm...hot pies..cold ambrosia custard.....mmmmm
