do you give someone when they cancel a meet? Or maybe it's not a cancel...just a message the next day that would say Sorry I've had a lot on" for example...what do you think?

Message the next day? Report to admin as a no show and tell them where to get off!!!!

Depends on the circumstances but if its the day after, I'd probably move on. Some people have genuine excuses but the cat died one or similar then no second chance! I've had to cancel once for a genuine family issue but rearranged it there and then.

Ive had 1 that mailed me yesterday to say sorry they didnt turn up because they had a lot on only thing is the meet was 2 weeks ago

Depends on why they've cancelled. If they have young family type responsibilities I'm more lenient, Ive had to cancel due to babysitters problems or sick bugs before so Im more understanding of others.

But single men get one chance only, they're ten to the penny on here so not going to waste my time

If it's a genuine problem as to why they have cancelled then I usually try to rearrange there and then. If I get the impressions excuses are being made about rearrangements, or just get the impression they don't actually want to meet and don't have the balls to say so, then I just cut all ties. I'm not wasting my time.

I have given people chances and eventually met them. I have a busy life and plagued with health problems at the moment so I'm Mrs Excuses myself

If they cancelled prior to the meet, I would treat it individually.

Not turning up without any prior notification, then there would be no second chance.

If they didnt cancel and left me waiting and dropped me a message the next day, then I would say block, but things can come up at the last minute,if it happened twice then I would just leave em to it and forget about them.

If they don't give you ample warning one if you turn up and they don't and don't inform you then they are best avoided totally.

If they cancel prior to the meet, then they get another chance. If they were to try and message the next day because they were a no show, they would not be able to message me, as they would have already been blocked. It takes 30 seconds to cancel. I've had last minute emergencies, but I would always inform the guy that I can't make it. It's just common decency.

Someone who says nothing gets absolutely no chance. It is very unlikely for many to get a second chance if they cancel, depending on timing. 2 failures equals never ever would meet.

If they're genuinely still interested in meeting there's no harm in giving a second chance after all life does get in the way sometimes. It's those who you chat with for weeks they suggest several different meets and then all of a sudden there profile disappears that get my goat.

Genuine meets usually are keen to rearrange a date ...more of a postponement than cancellation...and the timewasters tend towards catastrophic events preventing the meet...some so ridiculous annoyance turns to laughter before the inevitable block

Indeed, but it doesn't usually involve being swept down a swollen river for five miles and ending up in hospital with multiple fractures and concussion that erased his memory of the meet...lol

I think you generally know if its a genuine cancellation or someone taking the piss. Like someone else said, the more elaborate and far fetched the excuse, the more you think hmmm, ok then. My favourite was a guy I text the morning of the meet, got no reply, text a couple more times then got "I've got no petrol but can't fill up yet as my wallet is at my mates and I haven't even got enough petrol to get to him so will have to wait until he brings it over and he was well d*unk last night" Really??? Some people must think I was born yesterday!!!

I did have one once who swore blind he had a benign tumour in his throat that meant when he got a virus he suddenly found himself struggling to breathe and had to be rushed to hospital, leaving his phone behind in the panic! I had met him before, and the story was so ridiculous I figured it might actually be true (not sure he had that much imagination!), and he was begging to meet any night I chose, so I gave him another chance and he came good and treated me to the whole evening!

People may give what seem to be reasonable excuses. But who's to say it's true if it's someone you don't know?

Having a young daughter myself, I can be relaxed about that, as I fully understand.

But you kind of know by certain excuses I think, I can normally see bollox.

But we have to be realistic that things come up in life at the last minute, and family ect must come first.
