So I uploaded some pics onto Facebook from a night out, I saw one and thought "that's a brilliant picture". For the first time in a very long time, I got it printed and bought a frame for it. It's now hanging on my wall.

I actually miss proper photographs, I never thought I would, but I do.

There's something about going to the shop and getting them "developed" and having the physical copy in your hand. Also getting a frame and hammering a nail into the wall and hanging it up.

Anyone else miss this?

we always buy single use cameras for holidays and use them throughout the day at none specific times, it's fun getting back and developing those at boots. you never know what you are gonna get.

I'm an amateur photographer and have had a few of my pics put to canvass and some of my Favourite pics printed and framed.

I hardly do that now, but I have various albums of the kids growing up, with all my memories.

I wouldn't put those on a computer, lovely to flick through now and then, brings happy tears to my eyes.

Yes!

I used to take,process and develop film and photographs in my own dark room but with the expenses of doing so have had to give it up. There's nothing like watching your images appear on the paper!Agreeing with Tacita Dean in relation to photographic film itself,the convience of the digital age has contributed to its death

We agree completely. We keep finding family pics from over 100 years ago. What are people going to do with a cd or usb they cant rwad in 100 years from now. A grwat loss not having a hard copy.

Unlikely the disc was damaged, take it out of the laptop, get a SATA to USB lead and you'll probably get the images back.

There are loads more options now - we have prints, posters, canvases and regularly get photo books done - they get cheaper constantly
