So I'm going away for six months, nothing improves morale like receiving a mail drop. Who else still likes receiving letters and parcels?

Anyone fancy becoming a pen pal? Naughty letters and cheeky pics through the post. It's old school but could be fun.

Don't think I even had a computer when they went to Iraq. Used to send them sweets and toiletries too x

Unless you're with the nerds the normal paradigm terminals (computers for everyone) have filters. Can't access fab, plus EVERYTHING is monitored.

Everything out there is subject to monitoring though. So chances are things are read and pictures looked at!

Fire walls won't let me access from the ships computer system, and being hundreds of miles from land in a tin can means no phones

I send food shoebox's to troops in iraq and afganistan only a recent thing first time i did it the old lady at the post office said whats in there she also said you have any "blueys" not heard that word for years and embarrassed me. My dad used to use that word for porn, i said nope no porn in there i read the rules I can't send pornograpic material she then produced the blue letters.

I remember the days when I was posted overseas in the days before mobiles and email.

Receiving mail and packages was a real morale booster

I used to send packages to mates in afgan. I used to love finding things to put in it. Used to make sure magazines went it so others could read them after and practical joke items as well as sweets and treats.
