So as you may be aware, I got accepted to do my craziest challenge yet.

I start my training tomorrow evening, and am feeling a bit apprehensive about it. It's the unknown that's getting to me, and the feeling that this is really happening.

I will keep you updated on my progress over the next 8 weeks.

I'm taking part in white collar boxing for charity. Will end up with a fight against a suitable opponent.

Get your footwork right and your upper body movement spot on and you will win anything, increase your stamina by doing some rope work.

Well the first session is done. I'm glad to say I survived it. Got to hit some bags, and did some footwork.

It's going to be tough, as it's a totally differentstance to hockey ggoalkeeping.

Remember to keep your hands up at all times and try to be light on your feet. You'd be alright.

Best of luck.

I'm doing this too. Enjoy it why you can . . . That sweating and tiredness in weeks 1 and 2 with a bit of cardio is nothing compared to when you step it up in week 3.

Where you fighting?

Keep your chin tucked in behind your shoulder, elbows in to protect the body and make sure your feet are right at all times...balance is key to defence and power in boxing.

All the best!

I'm boxing in oxford. Looking forward to it but nervous at same time. You're right about the sweating so far, my shirt was drenched last night. I am pleased to say I wasn't the unfittest there too.

So I am at the end of my 2nd week of training. It's been good fun but a real eye opener. Did a little bit a sparring last night and untill my first real punch. It wasn't as bad as I thought it might be.

My arms and shoulders are sore after every training session, and I'm feeling fitter. I've booked a 1 on 1 session tonight and expect to be fully beasted.

All in all after 2 weeks I'm enjoying it, bit fight night seems scarily close. 6 weeks to go

So I am into my final 10 days before the big day.

Training has been pretty full on, and I have dedicated more hours than I ever imagined I would. On the way I have taken some knocks, resulting in black eyes, bloody nose, and lots of dents to my ego.

The last 6 weeks have seen me lose 1 stone in weight, change my body shape a fair bit, and I've met some really great people.

Tonight is our weigh in, and I find out who myoopponent will be. I'm a little nervous, and as the event gets closer I get.butterflies just thinking about it, from the entrance to the ring, to the fight, and the huge come down at the end.

More than 500 tickets have been sold, so this will be massive for me.

Will keep ya posted.

I now know my opponent and relatively happy with the outcome. Will be a tough and bruising fight.

Just need to sort my entrance music out, and I'll be all set. Just a week of light cardio work to go........

I'll start by suggesting "Fanfare for the Common Man", same as is used for the bangers.
