The land of grey peas and bacon

What is your social life like??? I worry as my parents in their 70's have a better social life than me...they are always out. I think it's difficult as most of my friends are with partners and have kids etc..

I don't really have a social life, very little spare time with having children. My daughters have a better social life than me, all their clubs and parties!

my parents are in their 80s and are out much more than us, this is mainly because they have the time and disposable income and also they get many more offers than us

I haven't got much of a social life either, I lost contact with most of my friends once I separated from the ex, us splitting seemed to be a catalyst for a few of our friends parting company

I've found trying to make new friends more difficult in my thirties. Again people have partners, children and an already established circle of friends. Or it could just be me, it's probably me.

my social life is shit usually .. when meeting cannot afford to have women friends popping in for coffee so lost most of them

I am actually going to a party this weekend at my brothers and a do at the cemetery where my dad is buried im actually looking forward to that and trying to find my mum a lonely old widower

Our social life is pretty good. The kids are at a stage where they would rather us be out than wanting to tag along with us and we enjoy popping into Manchester City centre for fun.

The only fly in the ointment is that most of our friends we grew up with have moved away to different parts of the country or beyond our shores.

My social life went to pot because of my work. I spent so much time out of the country, flying here and there, that I neglected forming friendships. It was made worse by moving house. However since Christmas I have taken the bull by the horns and started to create new friendships and reawaken old ones. Slowly it's beginning to improve

I just had an image of you all alone at Christmas pulling crackers by yourself and then wearing the hat, slumped in front of the TV with a few empty bottles of wine and a tear in your eye vowing to never spend Christmas alone again.

I want to Amsterdam last weekend with 5 childhood mates first time we have all been in the same place since August last year.

Moved home and jobs then split from husband after 23 years so lost contact with our friends

Mine mostly involves watching lots of sport, washing kit for sport, making picnics to eat while watching sport and driving to and from sport.

Once or twice a year I get out to do something non sport related.

i have a good varied social life

gym, photography class, walking, craft classes, munches, a few events a month and i see friends alot ( seeing some can be hard as they work shifts)

and yes i dont mind walking in a pub having a beer on my own with or without a book
