Look up Hennessy Hammocks. They have a velcro 'hatch' where you climb into it.

ok, they are more Exped than garden but are bloody comfy!

A big yes from another hammock camper. If well hung then hammocks without spreader bars at the ends are a lot easier to use and more comfortable. I have an Amazonas traveller hammock that is ridiculously comfortable that I got for about £20.
