Have any of you seen this bit of news?

In East London if you feel at threat of a mugging after you have taken money out of the cash point you can dial a cop and the police will come and escort you home

Free cab ride home after a night out anyone? lol

Oh gawd... half the women on here will be going to east end cashpoints in the hope of pulling a boy in uniform! It'll be chaos, chaos I tell you!

"Where the hell have you been, Constable?"

"Sorry, Sarge, I was, erm, walking this lady home from the bank."

"For three hours?"

"She needed a lot of, erm, reassurance, Sarge."

"And what's that stain on your uniform?"

And while you're busy ringing the police from your mobile phone your assailant decides to take that from you as well. This seems quite farcical, surely it would be a better to turn cashpoints off in areas of high risk after a certain time unless they are in well lit areas like a train station concourse or inside a petrol station.
