Does anybody have any weird and wonderful tricks for getting rid of hiccups?

Last year my physiotherapist helped me get rid of my hiccups in a way I'd never heard of... Stick your fingers in your ears, and drink at the same time.

This morning I put a cup with a straw in my cleavage and stuck my fingers in myears... Works every time to get rid of hiccups... Every single time without fail!

Cardiff

A punch in the guts does the trick, pushes all the gas upwards quickly.

Mine turn into burps automatically and eventually stop.

Drink from the back of a glass, it does work

Take deep, deep breath, hold for 10 secs, breathe all way out, stop for 10 secs...then breathe back in & repeat. Works for me

Clench your fist and blow hard into the top, between your index finger and thumb, about 10 times. Hiccuping is a regular spasm of the epiglottis and to be rid of it you need to "override" the spasms. The other good way is to lie on your back on the bed with your head leaning over the edge at a downwards angle, close your eyes and concentrate on slow deep breathing.

...Up on the Downs

Breathe in and out of a bag making a good seal round your nose and mouth. Your breathing rate will change in about a minute, and the hiccups will have gone. Always works.

Drinking from the back of a glass works for me, and I used to scare my daughter, and that works too.
