Help does anyone work for jet 2? Or Any advise how to change/cancel a flight?

just googled and on their website it says all scheduled flights are non-refundable. They recommend you take out comprehensive travel insurance before booking.

You can change date and time but this is subject to availability and you will have to pay the difference between the cost of your flight and the current price of the on you want to change it to, no refunds are given if the price is less. There is an administration fee of £35.

I'm bored, can you tell? lol

I think the 14 day cooling off period is just applicable to financial arrangements such as phone contracts, loans etc

It isn't applicable

You pay at booking and that's it.

Anything you want to amend, you pay for, be it flight or name change.

Some airlines won't even allow those depending on the type of ticket bought

£35 is a reasonable price all things considered.

I have just changed a flight with Easyjet. Same applied.

It is £35 per passenger, per flight by the way.

I was thinking £20 max be fair. Only want to change it to week later so my friend stays 2 weeks but I go for 1 also add extra bag so hopefully they will be helpful on phone.

The fees are there for a reason and I would be very surprised if they backed down.

The following is taken from the Which? website on Distance Selling Regulations:

If you're buying a service, such as gym membership or a cleaning service, you can usually cancel up to seven working days from the day after you enter into the contract.

But there are some contracts you can’t cancel simply because you change your mind, including:

contracts for transport and some leisure services to be provided on a specific date eg hotel bookings, flights, car hire, concert and other event tickets

and this from the Consumer Contracts Regulations section:

Exemptions There are some contracts where you won’t have a right to cancel a service. For example, hotel bookings, flights, car hire, concerts and other event tickets, or where the trader is carrying out urgent repairs or maintenance.

sorry to be the bearer of bad news

could it be cheaper just to book another return flight and let that one go to waste?

£275 go to waste don't think so. It's not that I've changed my mind it's just that my friends job situation changed I booked it good intention save us some money buy early and share case then found out she's staying extra week and her mum will come for second week

unfortunately they won take that into consideration, to them you are changing your mind.

Try it by all means but i think you will end up having to pay the administration fee etc

They will have heard it all before.

Make sure that your plans are concrete before you book a ticket with any airline or be prepared to lose money / spend more.

We were doing a 2 centre holiday last year, Easyjet Liverpool to Krakow, couple of days there and then Air Berlin up to Berlin.

Easyjet cancelled the flight (in advance), so we never got to Krakow as by that time the cost of flights with alternative carriers on the days we could travel were exorbitant.

Still lost the money on the other flight. Not our fault, but not their problem either.

Thankfully it was only about £75.

Easyjet refunded what they had received from us but nothing more. They had met their responsibilities.

or were you the one that made the booking ?

either way, i'd be expecting her / them to pick up the tab of any changes

start pissing about with bookings, expect to pay for it. it really is that simple.

Yeh I made booking as saw flight prices rising and thought book sooner and she can pay me back when can afford to job change meant her mum can go too. £35 admin fee is bit steep but if that's I need to pay best to just do it.

Thankfully, we were able to cancel the hotel at no cost. The cost of the flight was under (or close to) the excess, so pointless claiming.

We just extended the time we had in Berlin and took it on the chin.

It was a nightmare though.

We flew with Brussels Airlines with a plane change in Brussels.

On the way out, the flight from Manchester was delayed so we missed the connecting flight and ended up wandering round Brussels airport for 8 hours.

On the way back, the flight was cancelled altogether cos of weather.

I ended up being re-routed back via Copenhagen and an extra travel time of about 5 hours.

My other half was re-routed via Frankfurt and got there OK but couldn't get out cos of weather.

We set off on Sunday morning. He got home Tuesday afternoon !!!

No compensation : both delays were due to weather and therefore beyond the airlines control.

They are contracted to get you from A to B safely, not necessarily on time !

In all fairness, they treated him really well. Put him up in nice hotels, paid for all his meals and drinks etc. but obviously there is still the inconvenience.

Had it been a technical delay or an operational delay, we would have been covered but weather and 'acts of god' are not covered under the legislation.

It wasn't that the excess was high : more that the flights that we had to let go were REALLY cheap, so what we lost was around the excess level.

On a separate point, Jet2 lost their court case today, meaning that they have to pay compensation when foreseeable events cause flight delays and cancellations. The judges ruling applies to all airlines, and claims are possible for upto 6 years.

I know you feel you have been ripped off, but compared to some airlines that is cheap.

If you fly a mainline carrier such as BA, KLM, Lufthansa, Air Francd etc., if you buy their cheapest seats, once you press 'buy ticket' that is it, no changes allowed at all : date, time, name, destination : nothing.

Only flexible tickets allow for changes and they are usually 3 x or 4 x the cheapest fares.

Easyjet are quite goid with the changes.

We just changed a flight from liverpool to barcelona on 1 date to one from manchester to berlin on a different date and it just cost us the £35 each.

If I had tried that with say BA, I would have lost the cost of the Barca flight and had to buy another one to Berlin.

You'd better go & mug ur mate for some dosh

No way can ask her to pay extra £110 for my stupidity. Fact that it's £50 return bag now suddenly it's gone up to £70 return. Even if they agreed To match the £50 wouldn't mind so much. Tried asking to waive the £35 admin but stupid girl was hopeless

I changed a Jet2 flight recently, as I decided I wanted to go the day before. They charge the £35 admin fee, and then an uplift which is the difference in costs between the 2 flights. If the changed fight had been cheaper I would have been given a refund for the difference in price (but still with the admin fee)

For me it was worth paying the extra so that I could go on holiday earlier.

Do you use tripadvisor or skyscanner at all ?

They have features called 'price alerts' that send you an email when the price of flights fluctuate.

You could set say 'glasgow to rhodes' or 'glasgow to heraklion' and it will mail u them prices every couple of days.

you have to be quick tho : the cheap seats fill up quick !

I use sky scanner app but price just kept going up. Only jet2 go to Zante on dates we need and no refund xx
