Saw Rik at a one man stand up show, posters everywhere saying THIS SHOW WILL OFFEND/DO NOT BRING KIDS/PARENTS/OVER 18'S ONLY!

He did 5 minutes, then told the audience that that was tame - and if they found THAT offensive then they should gather their shopping and fuck off! He then went off stage for 10 minutes to give them time, promising to be back.

When he came back on, half the audience had gone! His words " Glad the boring bastards have gone - now lets get on with the fucking show!"

He was brilliant x

But why are all the kid's crying?

And someone would say, haven't you heard rik is dead the peoples poet is dead

Then one particularly astute teen will say.

But lo he can't be dead because we still have his poem's

Then another would say....

"Ade's tribute to him, well wouldn't expect anything else "There were times when Rik and I were writing together when we almost died laughing. They were some of the most carefree stupid days I ever had, and I feel privileged to have shared them with him. And now he's died for real. Without me. Selfish bastard." "

Those guys must have had so much fun. I watched an episode Bottom last night... very funny. There are clips of his appearances on Blackadder on Yahoo this morning, superb. Fantastic comic actor. Will be sadly missed.

Read about this yesterday and was almost in tears. Takes a lot for me to cry. Really wish I had the chance to meet him.

Another idol of mine taken away this year. The other Bob Hoskins.

I grew up watching the re-runs of Bottom et. al and as a key front runner to 'alternative' comedy was inspired to write my Dissertation on it all. 65% yay!

But anyway, it's still choking me now. Rest in peace you fucking funny legend of a man.
