sending private message

from a forum thread - does anybody do this ?- i did by accident the other day on a pass-fuck type thread - thread closed as i sent and it went to person as opposed to here - no biggy - but i have a couple of times when its been a personal subject and i had a random message sent to me the only reason being was i was on their thread -

It's there for that reason, to pm from a thread. You may want to comment in private on a particular subject. Something that may not not be pertinent or some confidential advice

I never do them but receive quite a few, often by people that don't write anything in the forums.

I sometimes do it to show support to a controversial post but so nobody knows I have therefore avoiding losing popularity within the forum.

People do this when they are not brave enough to do it in public forum in my opinion. Or if what they want to say would get them a ban on public forum lol

What I find amusing is the fact that sometimes people get nasty messages, then the recipient puts the contents up on the forum....then they get put on the naughty step too.

I usually put what I want on the forum, or walk away.

a lot of threads are closed quite early lately and it is easier to think your putting it on forum and it goes to the posters mailbox. i have loads like that lol xxxxxxx

I have on occasion sent a friendly warning that a post contravenes forum rules and suggested they delete it if there's still time or contact a mod for help to avoid a ban.

I have also sent messages to other posters of support and because my comments are either too personal for the forums or might break the forum rules. I don't, however, send nasty messages. If I don't agree with someone then I either say so on the forum or I keep sctum.

And I have sent phwoarr you're fit messages to hotties who have posted.

Once or twice it's been really annoying getting stick on the public bit but lots of private messages in agreement. Ruins my public rep, but makes me feel good inside
