I had a new tyre fitted to my spare wheel yesterday, it was meant to be a 205/55/16 and that's what the receipt says, but just noticed they have actually fitted a 205/50/16 I shall be paying them a visit tomorrow lol.

And they say they're cheaper than main dealers, when the service they offer doesn't even come close most of the time.

Watch when they fit tyres. They did it incprrectly on my mils car and we're lucky yo to be here cause when we got to ayr (travelling from aberdeen) the wheel burst as we pulled in to where we were staying. Safe to say my mil wasnt impressed as that tyre had been put on that morning by what she was told a newbie being watched but infact the professional guy went away and left the kid to do it himself.

Don't give them your phone number, otherwise they'll be cold calling you to sell insurance.

There's a reason they're known as 'Quick Shit' on all the motoring forums. I'd rather push my car than use any of their franchised service centres. I know of one person who took their car to be MOT'd at one. It apparently failed because their special machine detected too much play in the steering lock and the car required a new column, steering rack, power steering pump and track-rod ends!

No machine exists to check this and the steering lock isn't part of the MOT test. After telling her this she went to a different garage and her car passed with no advisories and they (quick Fit) were reported to VOSA and Trading Standards.

Never use these big franchised garages, they generate income by convincing you that you need extra work doing or their 'technicians' are nothing but illiterate spanner monkies who think a hammer is the correct tool for any job. You're far better off finding a good local garage or an independent specialist for your type of car.

"The plonkers are the ones that use them"

I'll agree with that and add:

The morons that regularly use them deserve everything they get...

I used Kwik Fit years ago, but never again.

I use a local garage for servicing the car, but I have used my local ATS reguarly for new tyres. They have always given me good advice, and good service. Maybe they look long term hoping that you will come back, On the flip side, I live in a small town, so word of mouth is important, and they are probably aware of that.
