Recent advice in the media given to protect ourselves from the latest virus threats is to update your operating system to latest version.

Mine is windows 7.So how do you update and is it free to do so ?

Wont be free to upgrade to windows 8. Unless you know a man who knows a man. Just make sure your antivirus is up to date and stuff. I past caring about stuff like that a loooong time ago

You just need to run Windows update... that will make sure you're operating system is updated to "its latest version". Also, open your anti virus software and update that too, then run a full scan of your computer.

You are very unlikely to be infected with this particular virus. To make sure you stay that way, try and avoid clicking on links in emails or opening emails from people you don't know. If you're not sure, delete it.

It just means do a windows update, it doesn't mean update by buying the latest version if windows. Plus win7 is far better than 8.

The only way you're going to a virus is if you start opening email attachments that you have no idea who they are from.

Just be vigilant as well, look at the email address, if it claims to be a government address then make sure it is actually that

As above, also just hover your mouse over links in emails or websites that might look suspicious. Your browser/email so will usually show the real location of a hyperlink over the text that looks like the link.

Plus windows 7 is still supported and Errol be for quite some time by Microsoft. They only just stored supporting XP, which is 2 releases before 7.
