Im a complete die hard super geek breaking bad fan. I have not yet watched game of thrones so really just looking for other television fanatics to compare the two and really how does it compare to breaking bad....

ive got breaking bad to watch but game of thrones is amazing - heard that breaking bad is good to start with then a long lull but good at the end = putting off starting to watch cos theres so much

Both are really good series... The Sopranos is still IMO the best series of the last 25 years though. Community is good too.

Trust me get it on, its really amazing, my personal favourite show of all time. Youll love it honestly. Guess il have to watch it vast amounts of it was filmed 30minutes away from me and people go crazy for it

Both good in their own right. You didn't ask which one people preferred in your original question, so if you don't ask the right question you won't get the answers you expect or require. I don't need it dumbing down, just need the right question. I'd say, I PREFER BREAKING BAD.

As I've read the game of thrones books the series is not as good as the books.

Well when you "compare" things you generally pick out the one you mostly prefer. An example would be the thongs or whatever you enjoy wearing, one pair made from silk and the other made from metal heavily laden with bullet ants. Im sure youd select the silk pair

It's a good series.

Sex, swords and a bit of fantasy thrown it.

The story twists and turns really nicely.

I'd say it's up there with breaking bad but if you don't like fantasy type stuff then you might not like it. They are quite different after all.

Holy Meowmeowbeans! I honestly thought I was the only one on here who had watched Community! Awesome series. Six Seasons and a Movie!

OP, both are excellent series, but it's difficult to compare them as they are radically different. It's easiest just to watch both and enjoy!

Oooh, and don't forget The Wire!

Has grabbed my attention more than B.B or G.O.T could ever hope to but nobody seems to know about it.

Seriously... I am late to the "game of thrones" party... only just got into it for this season... so i went back and watched it.... it is really really good...

I had to apologise in another thread a few days ago for in the past calling game of thrones watchers "nerds" lol....

basically think of GoT as "dungeons and dragons with violence and sex" and you can't go much wrong....

Love them both. I've just watched the first 5 series of breaking bad in about 6 weeks. That said, push being pitted against shove my vote goes to GoT. It's simply the best thing ever made for television.

The only real link between the two is the quality of the writing and acting-both are off the charts in terms of both. Beyond that I can't compare the two.

Game of thrones comes from one of the greatest popular works of fiction ever written, and has that backing from a devoted fan base.

You can see the love of the show in the casting and production-serious money has been put into it. Breaking Bad looks and is cheaper, and is smaller in vision, as opposed to the grand settings of Westeros and Essos.

Got nuts on both, I say.

Im upto series 3 episode 3 in breaking bad.

its good but after all the hype ive heard about it... im some what dissapointed.

Games of thrones I love and wins hands down.

still think spartacuz was my favorite series though (lots of action 300 style, lots of sex, can switch your brain off for an hour).

I loved breaking bad. I have watched about 3 or 4 episodes of game of thrones and can't get in to it despite hearing nothing but good things about it.

I love them both but as I read the books to Game of Thrones there wasn't any suspense. Were as Breaking Bad was so original and I was addicted to it from the beginning although I had to take a break from it as watching them back to back really messed with me.

Breaking Bad is addictive

We watch at least 2 episodes at a time

One weekend watched 4 solid hours

Gutted on last series

Game of thrones superb in its own right but different

Anyway , as I have a motorhome I'm off cooking meths this weekend and hope to make more dough than I can spend in ten lifetimes

They are targeted at different audiences to an extent but both enjoyable. Game of thrones is for a slightly younger audience and sometimes cheesy but that doesn't spoil it and the plot is good although the screen adaptation isn't the best. Breaking bad well there you have a seat of your pants gritty drama that can take more concentration to follow as the sub plots are more intricate and the writer is more manipulative in how he challenges the audience. I don't see why someone can't enjoy both though.
