Lots of stuff going on with stem cell therapy. In ten years you wont need to inject insulin anymore, in some places is already obsolete, other stuff available, in-dwelling insulin pumps being the most crude

Thanks all. Xxx

Honestly it need not be a negative thing.

We have always eaten healthy, but eyes have been well and truly opened last few months regarding sugar in food.

We now go for low gi foods, whole foods, fresh vegetables.hardest part is lunches for work.

You don't turn into a T1 if you are T2 and then have to inject insulin.

T2 is the overproduction of insulin because the receptors are shot (insulin is the fat storage hormone, hence the weight gain), T1 is the absence of insulin, or at least, hardly any at all.

T2 was the best thing that ever happened to me. I'm now eight stones lighter, healthier than I was in my thirties with the blood lipid profile of a teenager and an HbA1c of 4.6

All done on a fantastic diet of low-carb/high-fat. I love pissing my doctors off!

Made changes to what and when I was eating! I thought I was great drinking smoothies etc but they are full of sugar!! The best diet I ever done was slimming world, it's great and kinda tailored to diabetics so you don't take lows! Plus I lost two stone lol

I strongly recommend you do a bit of research about the fat/heart disease hypothesis. It has been largely blown out the water. Those of us on a LCHF diet have amazing cholesterol profiles.

I eat butter, lard, ghee, cheese, coconut oil, red meat and drink about two litres of cream a week.

Have a look at bullet proof coffee.

Many people can manage T2 with diet and exercise. It is much harder for those taking medication for other conditions.

Ii myself don't have diabetes but I've a fb who is type 1. It's certainly been an eye opener for myself but I'm now a pro at carb counting lol. She has an insulin pump fitted and has made such a massive difference but her BM's are all over the shot when she exercises.

Any advice?

Every three months? I take it they found something if concern then?

Mine is every year. My foot check ups are not so regular but when I rang my Dr for an appointment the other week they said they didn't have any for a week but when I said I was diabetic and had a numb toe they miraculously found an appointment that day!!

Luckily it was just localised numbness from rubbish shoes..

Apparently cannabis sativa can help to reduce pressure in the eye and the changes diabetes can cause. Tests in countries which have made medical cannabis and cannabis products legal have proved it. Unfortunately UK doctors cannot recommend or endorse illegal behaviour no matter how well it works.

Although a friend of mine in the medical profession has told me that an under tongue spray is close to being approved, though I'm not certain what it's application will be.
