"Elvis........................... Yes big fat karaoke singer. He did revolutionise Rock'n roll by being a white kid singing predominantely black music ie Blues. His vocal range as he got older increased. His record sales for a solo artist are matched only by Michael Jackson. Both became recluses but I think MJ was an all round better entertainer. Consider this Elvis never played to a live audience of any more than a few hundred. Guys like MJ, and some of the super groups regularly play in front of 70,000 fans per show. There are guys out there that record albums but not singles and have been going since the 50's and 60's and still regularly sell out stadiums. nah Elvis was a glorified pub singer. " Yep seeing your point...but E.P wasn't a PAEDO...runs off to hide from the die hard M.J .Fanzillas....

"Ok, i have never classed myself as a big elvis fan. However, his voice on his ballads makes me go goose pimply and he was arguebly one of the best looking guys in his younger days. Also by coincidence my favourite song of all time is an elvis song. In the ghetto" what was his song doing in the ghetto???

"Thought he was great albeit not my all time favourite, nonetheless very talented and innovative. There was a, quite plain but lovely song in one of his movies which went something like "your time has not come yet, babe" and I never found it again. The other one I liked was the "girl of my best friend" . The In the Ghetto - well it will never be forgotten" "Your time hasn't come yet baby" - from the film "Speedway" 1968

"ELVIS really was the king of rock&roll just look at his record sales before he died and after,he has had more hits than the beatles and more number ones 18 in total. long live rock&roll." The only reason he has had more hits than the Beatles is his cynical record company! The last thing they released was a rehash (and not even a good one) of an earlier record! Of course all the grannies who still love him are going to buy it!. Like someone else said on here. He was in the right place at the right time and while a good singer in the early years, he was mediocre at best in the later years. BUT, of Rock and Roll, he was the King!
