30 day abs challenge

Jump to newest

By (user no longer on site) OP

Having seen this on the Book of Face I thought I'd give it go (I want to improve my core strength anyway).

A combination of sit ups, crunches, leg lifts and planking ...

Day Two and it's easy so far

Is anyone else up for this ?

You are going to show the results off at fab camp aren't you?

If the forum demands I am happy to volunteer for the onerous task of finding out

a) if it works

And

b) if performance is enhanced by the changes.

Have a look at the Perfect Sit Up Machine. It takes away the strain from your back and neck.

I actually just ordered a slender tone belt this weekend to use whilst doing the house work.

Figured this might be thw next best thing as no space in my flat for that as I did look at that but I've nowhere to store it when not in use

A good workout on a dildo can do wonders, as can lots of lifts, squats on a partner etc. Im gonna stick with sex and yoga, as that has lots of stomach and abs work.

I've started the T25 just yesterday, and I didn't realize how out of shape I was. It kicked my butt. My son started it a couple weeks ago, and it's done wonders for him. I thought it wouldn't be so bad, can't believe how soft I got. Today hopefully it will be better

Check out Scoobiesworkshop on YouTube for free impartial advice.

He makes the point that the only way to get abs is by diet..... Doing sit-ups etc won't do anything visible and will just strengthen the core (a good thing).....you need a low fat percentage to make abs visible as they are hidden by fat (in my case)

Get dieting peeps...as well as excersise

Reply privatelyReply in forumReply +quote

By (user no longer on site) OP

Very true, you need a low body fat % age for abs to show through.

I know I'm never going to go that low or even want to (though I do consider myself to have a good diet).

The diet required to get that low is quite specific

I'm looking to strengthen my core and firm up a bit

Don't do it, it's bullshit. I have a link explaining why you shouldn't do this - it's accentually a really bad idea and very bad for your body to enter into this challenge. Fab won't let me post the link but I can assure you this is not a good thing to do.

It will actually give you a curved lower spine, terrible lower back pain and potentially a larger pot belly than you have now as a result. Do some research before you enter into these stupid Facebook things.

You'll end up with tight psoas major which pushes all your organs forward, giving you the appearance of a pot belly, and you won't lose any weight.

I've seen this as well and I agree you shouldn't exercise without making sure you're doing the moves correctly.

For me I do Pilates weekly so all I'm doing are my normal sit ups, leg raises and plank ~ I've replaced the crunches with pulsing.

Just to add though the link I saw on FB by this 'expert' had a link to their fitness plan which made me think hmmmm!

No-one posts anything like this to FB without a promotion somewhere ...

BUT as part of an integrated fitness plan it's fine to do, sets progressive targets and achievements

Unless your diet is clean you won't see results, until your bf% is 16 or less, anyone will be ripped then. To work out my core I do v and l sit weighted pull ups, planches, weighted pistol squats. I'd love to do normal squats and dead lifts but have problems with loading weights on my spine ..so nah.

Good luck on your challenge
