name my boat

I am buying a speed/fishing boat and want to rename her.

I was thinking of naming it the Charlotte, after my ex wife, on the basis that it'll never go down.

Any suggestions?

"When you rename a boat it should be blessed by a vicar or priest"

Noooo vicars are not welcome on boats...

Your supposed to write the old name on paper, place in a box and burn it, you then offer the ashes to Neptune on the outgoing tide...

Renaming ships and bad luck goes back to pirate days (proper pirates not Somalians) and was due to the fact if they didn't do a very good job of covering all traces of the old name they would be hanged.

In that way it is considered a good time to rename when major alterations have been name that will change the appearance of the vessel.

You could always call it 'Charlotte's Wet Dreams' and spend your time feeling her throbbing under you or enjoying her gentle undulations under you as your hooking all those other fish in the sea!

That makes sense and I am going to accept it as fact. If anyone pulls me on it I'll just refer them to you

Not if you spin around three times and tip a drink to Neptune. It must be champagne though.
