Does your doctor know you are stopping? It maybe worth trying gradually reducing the dosage over a period of time.

Central

As Abi says, great advice. Tapering the dose down gradually is the recommended way to come off it. It is modifying neurotransmitter levels in your brain, so taking and discontinuing has potential pitfalls. Your prescriber should make a plan that is safest for you, and potentially minimises side effects from coming off. Can be dangerous to do otherwise, so hope youre ok. Good luck!

You generally need to taper medication like that, and very slowly too.

That reminds me. Have you cheered up from the other day?

You can't stop them quickly. It's taking me years just to get down from 30mg a day to 10mg every 5 or 6 days. Some side effects are easier to put up with than others. Slow going and I wish you well x

Your doc should be looking at other alternatives, rather than one med. Paxil isnt commonly prescribed anymore because of the side effects. Id be seeing a new doc, personally. Good luck hun.
