"Anyone know how to stop em ?? Ours got jumped by another this morning (off its lead). He has got a flesh wound on is cheek that looks superficial (ie doesnt like it's gone all the way thru) but is still bleeding. Not pumping out, just weeping. He is still farting about like there's nowt wrong and is eating, drinking, playing and currently out back sunbathing. Have tried a compress which stems it, but as soon as he moves his gob it starts weeping again. Don't want to take him to the vets cos he turns into psycho sid at mere sight of a green overall (Has to be sedated and muzzled just to have his annual jab) So any tricks out there doggy loving fabbers, cos short of knockin the little sod out for a few hours to give it time to heel, I am fresh out of ideas " Call the vet out to you many will do so.

"Think he'll be going to vets 2morra anyway. As the evening has gone on his eye has puffed up n started weeping n pussing a bit. Same side as the cheek wound. Obviously caught it or summat. Again, he doesn't seem bothered by it, it's me that's flappin about lol : but like it or not he's gonna have some green in his life 2morra " Have you tried a 'pets at home' vet? Taking them into a shop full of food is easier, cheaper than normal vets too. Hope he's okay, eyes are always a concern, mine has problems with his inner eyelid which pops out every so often.

"Best to get it checked , if infection sets in then he could get really poorly . Good luck " Good luck at the vets. My animals all seem to dislike the vet too, but if there's a risk of infection it's far better to make that call early and nip any potential problems in the bud.

"Hibbiscrub to keep it clean. Nah x not good" May I ask why? It's an antiseptic liquid sold by vets for the treatment of animals. Was given it when my dog sliced a whole pad off his back paw.

"Could be puncher wounds to , dogs carry a lot of bacteria in their mouth , ideally you want you to keep draining , a hot cloth to draw anything nasty out , clean with hipiscrub and spray a antibiotic spray on it (can only be bought from a vet ) over the counter ones are just rubbish as don't contain antibiotics , and should heal quickly , obviously keep a ete incase a deeper infection has set it " Yup : he is booked in at vets at 1130 to get checked out. If it's expensive, I shall be seeking out the owner ... Just shows, that despite we all think our own pets won't attack, sometimes they can and will. I love dogs but admit even my own can be unpredictable, hence why he is never off a lead outside the perimeter of the house.

"How is the old dog? " Not sure tbh - he is a rescue I was told he was about 18 months old when I got him and I've had him over 2 years, so I'd guess at somewhere between 3 & 4 Vets did test his eye and gave me antibiotic drops and painkillers for him and another appointment for next Monday. I got an itemised receipt just in case I see the guy and his dog again So if 1 of my next posts is about me being mauled, you know why

"Was at the vets today with the new pup. Big poster on the wall saying some of the symptoms of lungworms (easily caught and potentially fatal) were cuts that won't stop bleeding, lethargy and loss of appetite - would be well worth getting checked to be safe. Hope the pooch is feeling better. A" Certainly not lethargic, mithered me bleedin senseless today and had his toys dropped at my feet at regular intervals. Subtlety is not one of his stronger points. On the eating front, he has a good day too. I had a visitor from work so it was an excuse to open the biccies. Cue slavvery chops. Oh and he's just been given what was left of me dinner. Am hoping the mash will weigh him down for a bit
