You wouldn't shampoo your hair without conditioning, the advert says, so why not use a combination thrush treatment?

What actually is the connection between washing your hair and treating thrush?

It depends if you have pubes to shampoo and condition - if so then you could cause an alkaline/acid imbalance that might cause thrush...
