Set alarm for 830 as a gas safety guy was coming, went to make a coffee and saw a card by the letterbox. Yeap it was a card.

Do people only knock once these days?

My doorbell doesn't work, I've missed a couple of deliveries because they didn't think to try knocking.

normal trick, delivery people use, is to tap letter box, even if you have doorbell and knocker. card written out ready. watch them do this.

I've actually opened the door while the postman had be putting the card through the letterbox without knocking before

I've noticed that he hasn't done the post for our house anymore

Probably just leaves all of our mail in the stores now...

The best ones are the ones who seem to think they've invented time travel!

Get a message saying something will be delivered between 10am - 2pm. Hold out until 3pm until you HAVE to leave and there will be no package and no note. Come back and find a note that says they tried to deliver at 2pm!

I will always contact them and complain that they forgot to take me with them when they went on this mythical journey through time.

I want a go in the Tardis, I feel cheated!

Neighbour just collared me to say I had someone knocking at my door just after 8.

Gas engineer told him that he was only allowed 4 knocks.

knock, knock, knock, knock, fill card, go.

I always know when the postie is due. My Rottie hears the van pull up and starts barking. Goes totally loopy when he sees him coming up the path. Who needs a doorbell with a 19 month old 43 kilo Rottie in the house!

Maybe he meant attending four times, before the locksmith comes, I had a letter, wouldn't mind I don't have gas

On a Monday, I had a postie deliver a "while you were out" card and caught him doing it. "It's from Saturday," he said, when he didn't have said item on him. "Well, thank you, Doctor Who," said I.

A complaint to the depot yielded a "yeah, we always do that" comment from the supervisor. I hated Royal Mail from that moment.

I M know of someone that works in the social housing sector doing repairs etc

if the house is an utter shit hole they knock the door with a sponge then leave a card and hope that the recall gets passed onto another person !

It's not just the Gas Guys, They just post a card through to save them time, they don't ring the bell or knock.

I saw a delivery guy come to the door from upstairs, he was gone in the time it took to get to the front door.
