Is swinging a hobby? I've heard it described that way on here before and I always wonder, is sex a hobby?

Is swinging a hobby? An ethos? A lifestyle? A belief system? A religion?(!)

For me personally, it's a hobby. If my wife was a swinger or at somepoint in the future I was in a position where I had a different female partner or if I were single, then it would be more a lifestyle thing.

I've described it as a hobby for want of a better word, it's not a lifestyle although in the summer when you can go to eureka often it comes close to that for a week it two. I don't know......a pastime maybe?

For me it is sexy fun at naughty clubs. Will it be a lifestyle ? Not sure it's possible if not a couple. As a newbie it's great exploring and will be interesting what it feels like in 3 months to continue

What if you only have nsa sex vua here and clubs etc?

As an extra for couples I can see it being a hobby.

If it constitutes one's entire sex life then it seems more somehow.

Not a hobby to me either alone or as a couple. It's a want, a desire, it's sex. Doesn't become a hobby for me just because it's outside sexual norms. Also there are people involved with real feelings no matter how fleeting and near the surface those feelings may be, I see people as more than a hobby.
