Anyone got one?

What make?

How smart are they exactly? Can you use the Internet on one? Or a webcam?

My TV is being a bit temperamental lately and I've seen some reasonable deals on smart ones just wondering if it's worth paying the extra? X

Used to have a Samsung.

It was pretty cool, you get app sort of things for them like Netflix (as has been said) but I don't think it was comfortable to browse using as you only have the remote which is a pain.

It's over again for another 10 years when they will bring it out again to part more people with their cash. It's failed many times and will continue to do so for some time.

They doing porno's in 3D HD yet?

Can I come round to watch one?

I have my own glasses the only thing I have seen in 3D was 'The Croods' and spent most of it dodging fire flies coming out of the screen - or so it seemed.

GRRRRR Smart TVS! LG and its absolutely rubbish. Keeps locking, takes forever to connect and a complete waste of time and money.

NowTV stutters Netflix makes it turn off lol

Much better connecting a half decent laptop and using the much bigger memory.

Over the rainbow, under the bridge

I created my own smart tv by hooking up a micro pc to my flat screen. I got a wireless keyboard from Staples for £30 and I'm good to go. It's basically a cut price entertainment system.

instead of her titties,

she doesn't know much about smart TV,

but is rather keen on a nice DP,

just won't travel to far cities.

sounds like your broadband speed is to slow or your hub is to far from your telly . if so try a range extender.

You can get a Wireless adapter for most Smart TVs (I know Samsung do them) or, for somewhere around the same cost, use a Homeplug (Ethernet over Power) adapter and just plug it into the broadband router.

Smart TV are great - I do have to recommend the Samsung - the series 6 TVs can be had for a relatively low price and I think they are now in the Supermarkets - the Series 7 and 8's (with the cameras a and gesture controls) are significantly more money.

The Smart Hub feature allows you to load up various apps - BBC iPlayer, Youtube, Catchup TV etc. It also has a rather hand built in media hub as well which will search your home network for Windows Media Player libraries (if you published them) and DLNA devices and media servers.

Once its on the home network ,you can also 'throw' content unto them using your phone as the bridge - so you can find a clip on Youtube using your phone and then have it display on the TV.

LG and Samsung are your two best options. If your tv is on pretty much 24/7 go for LG as they use bigger LED's which will prevent screen burn.

Samsung 3d smart tv, all 6 of the family don't like 3d, as for smart there slow, better option is a good tv and a Apple TV or one of the new free boxes that stream internet .

I've got LG and got just normal wireless mouse and keyboard hooked up, works just like computer when searching the web and great for chat on fab as get bigger pic of cammer's don't seem to be able to hook up webcam though and does not show some types of video formats, other wise its wicked but you need fibre optic broadband to get most out of it.
